Breakfast. Beginning of a city tour of Dakar, the Senegalese capital. Transfer to the harbour where we will board a ferry to visit the island of Gorée (20 minutes away from Dakar). Gorée is an island of 300m wide and 900m long from where hundreds of thousands of men, women and children were deported. Visit of the « slaves’ house » and the island. Return to Dakar and road to the Pink Lake where we’ll have Lunch after the visit of the saline. The Pink Lake is a stretch of pink water whose salinity is 380 g/l and also it was the arrival point of the famous rallye Paris – Dakar. The pink color of the lake changes according to the density of sun rays. Ride aboard a four-wheeled vehicle on the sand dunes surrounding the lake and those who want can bath in the lake floating. Breakfast. Depart to the Saloum area and stop in Kaolack, a city situated in the west central of Senegal. Visit of this city with its former market of Sudanese architecture where meet sellers that come from all the bordering countries and where it is possible to find almost any product. Kaolack was and still be an important transit centre in the groundnuts trade, a traditional cash crop of Senegal. We’ll have lunch in a restaurant of Kaolack before continuing to Toubacouta. Breakfast. Today we enjoy a typical African bush experience in an open game viewing vehicle on a guided sunrise game drive through the reserve. See family herds of Derby Eland and other antelope species such as roan, waterbuck and bushbuck can also be viewed, as well as giraffes, rhino, buffalo, etc. Enjoy morning coffee sun downers and snacks next to the waterhole as you experience a magnificent African sunrise. Breakfast. Depart to the seaside resort of Saly. We’ll make some stops en route to visit local populations. We will make an excursion to Joal, childhood village of the first President of Senegal, the poet-president Leopold Sedar Senghor. Moreover a visit of his house of childhood is proposed to you before continuing to Fadiouth, the Shell Island. Connected by Joal by a wooden bridge, the island of Fadiouth is built on a mountain of shells. Its millet granaries on piles implanted in the river and its catholic and muslim mixed cemetery make the charm of the animistic village of catholic adoption. Visit of Fadiouth and lunch in a restaurant in Joal before continuing to Saly. Arrival to Saly and installation in our hotel 5 stars at the beach. Dinner and overnight. Read more

On board of canoes, we’ll visit this natural reserve frequented every time of the year by magnificent birds (herons, pelicans, pink flamingos, egrets, spatulas, etc.), which come to nest between forest of mangrove swamps and sandbanks.
