The national road 7 is known for its different landscapes, wide rice fields, rice fields in terrace, savannah, rocks, bush...and sea. This itinerary offers you the opportunity to discover many things about Madagascar in one trip so be sure to go visit Ranomafana national park and to go on a Isalo tour.
Night arrival at Antananarivo airport. Welcome and transfer to your hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Antsirabe. Stop at Ambatolampy (70 km) known for producing cooking-pots from recycled aluminum. Continuation and arrival to Antsirabe. Antsirabe means a place full of salt, the name of the city comes from the presence of hot springs discovered in the 19th century by Of Norwegian missionaries. Transfer to your hotel, then midafternoon city tour by rickshaw to visit local craftsmen. Free lunch at customer’s expense. Antsirabe was founded by Norwegian missionaries as a sanatorium centre, attracted by the cool highland climate and the presence of therapeutic sources. Today, Antsirabe is a refined and quiet city, which retains a distinct 19th century appearance. It is crossed by wide avenues lined with palm trees and elegant buildings, teeming with rickshaws always ready to accompany tourists to discover the treasures of the city. After breakfast, departure for the Betsileo region to Ranomafana (260 km - approx. 6 hours’ journey on asphalt). We will reach Ambositra, the town of roses and also the capital of crafts and precious woods. Visit a workshop to learn about marquetry and woodcarving. Stop for free lunch at customer’s expense. We reach Ranomafana in the late afternoon. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Read more
After the breakfast, morning visit of the park, vast rainforest where you can discover12 species of lemurs, 95 species of birds , reptiles, amphibians and the Fosa , unique feline. Walk up to the belvedere. Then, after visiting the park, visit of the hot springs pool that gave name to this area : Ranomafana. Stop for free lunch at customer’s expense. We will leave for Fianarantsoa, the historic cultural capital of the Betsileo country (65 km - about 2 hours’ drive on asphalt). Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Read more
Breakfast and leave the hotel. Drive to the south with a stop at Fianarantsoa for a short city tour. City tour of Fianarantsoa Fianarantsoa city, founded in1830 by Queen Ranavalona I, and have development with the arrival of the missionaries, 40 years later, becoming the centerpiece of Catholicism. This city has an important economic and commercial role, thanks to its situation : the RN7 (National Road); road between The East and The South of the country, as well as hosting a rail network. The economy of this town is based mainly on farming (rice, coffee, clove) wine production. Departure for Ranohira,and second stop at Ambalavao, famous for its large zebu market every Wednesday. We will stop to visit the wild silk workshop, followed by the Antemoro paper workshop, still made today using the ancient process imported from the Arab world. Then, visit private reserve pf ANJA that will give you the opportunity to get to know a family of Lemur Makis . Anja will allow us to discover: chameleons, and reptiles of Madagascar. Early breakfast then departure for the visit of Isalo park, a succession of canyons and oasis. The Isalo National Park extending over 3000 km between 820 and 1240 meters above sea level. The park is one of the most unusual landscapes in the country. The flora is one of the driest regions in the South including Pachypodium, baobab bonsai, aloe plants and more Euphorbes. Depart south for the town of Tulear and on to Ifaty about 5 hours’ drive on asphalt. On the way we will pass through Ilakaka in the region of the Sapphire prospectors where a multi-ethnic population lives. And here are the first views typical of the Malagasy southern landscape , arid vegetation, baobabs and thorny forests. The road is adorned with various forms of Aloalo (funerary steles made of artistically worked wood). Free lunch at customer’s expense. Along the way we will pass through typical southern coastal landscape, fishing villages, arid vegetation, baobabs and thorny forests. Visit Reniala Private Reserve Reniala Private Reserve is a small protected area in the vicinity of Ifaty. The visit represents an educational tour that, with the help of local guides, will acquaint you with of the various endemic species of the thorny forest typical of this region. Meet at reception and transfer to the Port of Tuléar. Transfer by speed boat (40 min/01hour of crossing) from Tulear to Anakao. Stay at leisure. Dinner and overnight in hotel.

Boarding on a speedboat and transfer back to the port of Tulear (about 45min/01hour of crossing). Welcome and continuation by car to the airport of Tulear.
