This trip will take you to the land of the baobabs. The South West region is home to the largest number of these majestic trees. You will have the opportunity to admire the famous alley of the baobabs, to the alley and the return of the way leading to the Tsingy of Bemaraha, this massive karstic, classified world heritage by unesco in 1990.

After breakfast, you will leave Antananarivo Merina country and drive to Antsirabe, across the mountain range Ankaratra, whose highest peak rises to 2644m. On the hillsides, terraces rice fields disclaim their range of green. On the way, you will make a stop in Ambatolampy to visit a recycling aluminum foundry. You will continue the road after the visit. From Antsirabe, you will take a fork to the southwest towards Miandrivazo. In the morning, you will continue the road and embark on the Morondava tour. A landscape of mountains and savannah dominate the route. You will arrive in the afternoon. Largest city in the region of Menabe, Morondava has more than one asset to seduce the tourists on holiday in the southwest of Madagascar. In the Morondava tour discover that it is a coastal town essentially turned towards fishing and tourism. The region is home to some of the most spectacular sightseeing of the island. Less than a half hour drive from downtown of Morondava unfolds the Boababs Alley, one of the icons of the region. Off its coast, the peninsula of Nosy Kely seduced by its lush vegetation consists of mangrove. Further at 106km from Morondava, the famous tsingy of Bemaraha. The rest of the day will be free. Early in the morning, after the Morondava tour continue to Belo sur Tsiribihina that you will reach in the end of the morning. In Belo sur Tsiribihina, you have to cross by ferry the Manambolo and Tsiribihina rivers, then continue to Bekopaka the place where the tsingy located, on a very bad track (4 hours for only 80Km). The region of Antsingy benefited from the status of strict nature reserve (access limited to researchers) until August 1997, when the Malagasy state created the National Park Tsingy of Bemaraha. This wonderful site has been ranked on the list of Unesco World Heritage in 1990. With an area of over 150,000 ha, it includes a strict nature reserve to the north and an area of 72 000 ha open to visitors, south. Two areas are open to the public; the small Tsingy sector extends a few hundred meters from the village of Bekopaka and big Tsingy highlight of the visit, located 17 km from the first track. Visits to the Tsingy of Bemaraha will be adapted to the physical conditions of each and require the assistance of a local guide and respect for "Fady" (taboo) premises. On this day, you will discover the “Big Tsingy” through Andamozavaky tour. In the morning you will join the Big Tsingy (1hour by 4WD). Andamozavaky is a sports tour and requires a good physical condition. It takes between 4 to 5 hours walk and it is quite technical (pass at galleries and caves, ladder climbing and crossing suspension bridges). You will have a panoramic view of tsingy. After breakfast, you will take the track to Belo Tsiribihina, and then continue to explore Kirindy Forest. On the way, you have to cross by ferry the Manambolo and Tsiribihina Rivers. Explore Kirindy Forest, also known as the "Swiss Forest" and find out that it is one of the last dry dense primary forests of Madagascar's west. It is managed by the Forestry Vocational Training Centre of Morondava since 1978. Kirindy dry forest is home of the 6 species of nocturnal lemurs ... and two diurnal species. The biggest attraction in this forest remains primarily the Fossa, Cryptoprocta ferox, the biggest carnivorous mammal on the island and is sometimes compared to a small puma. Several species of birds can also be observed. On arrival, you will check-in at your hotel. Before returning to Morondava, you will come back to explore Kirindy forest and its diurnal species that inhabit the forest. After the visit, you will take road leading to Morondava. A few kilometers before arriving in Morondava, you will stop at the famous Baobabs Avenue to discover the Baobab trees and to attend the sunset. In the morning, you will leave Morondava and drive to Antsirabe through the Bongolava turbulent terrain and extensive bare patches. You will reach Antsirabe city late in the afternoon. Overnight in a hotel.
In the morning you will go to Betafo that you will reach after about 40 minutes’ drive. From there you will reach Betafo and will go to visit the city (former administrative capital of Vakinankaratra) with its various typical houses with verandas of wrought iron, you will also notice the standing stones scattered across the city but never random. This walk is an opportunity to discover the hinterland of Vakinakaratra favoring exchanges, meetings between the various horizons by immersing trekkers in the daily lives of upland farmers taking into account the development of the population local that is to say protecting, valuing the cultural heritage and sustainably managing natural resources with equitable distribution of benefits. Before taking the road to Antananarivo, you will first make a city tour to explore the city of Antsirabe through its various workshops of craftsmen (stonecutters, cornetiers, and miniature objects manufacturers with recoveries of scrap). After the tour you leave Antsirabe and drive back to Antananarivo that you will reach at the ends of the afternoon. On arrival, you will be taken to a nearby airport hotel for day use.
