Upon arrival in Bogotá you will be welcomed by a bilingual travel guide and transferred to a pleasant and well located hotel where you will spend two -2- nights; an American breakfast is included.

2 nights in the capital.

We begin with a walk to Bogotá’s main square, the Plaza de Bolívar and the government buildings around it, before entering the nearby “Candelaria” old town, the colonial center of the city. We will then visit the San Francisco Church and the world-famous Museo Del Oro (closed on Mondays), which contains more than 30.000 pre-Colombian gold artifacts. We end with a trip by cable car to the summit of Monserrate hill, Bogotá’s best-known landmark, with a wonderful view of the whole city and the savanna beyond. Read more

Bogota

Our third day starts with an early morning departure from Bogotá northwards. After 2 hours, we arrive at one of the most significant national monuments in Colombia: the “Boyacá Bridge”. On this bridge Simón Bolívar won his most decisive battle against Spanish settlers. We will visit to Ráquira, a village of quaint and colorful small houses, famous for its pottery and ceramics. Arrival in Villa de Leyva, we will visit the main square and enjoy the magic of this beautifully preserved colonial town. Read more

1 night near the main square

Transfer back to Bogotá and short direct flight in the afternoon to the Coffee Region. On arrival, transfer to a coffee growing farm located near Armenia where we will spend two nights (breakfast included).

2 nights on a Coffee Farm

After breakfast, trip to the Cocora Valley. With breathtaking landscapes which will be explored by a horse riding or walking trip this is one of the most beautiful places in Colombia. Here we will find the impressive “Palma de Cera”, the Colombian national tree and one of the tallest species of palm in the world. On the way back to Armenia we will visit Salento, a picturesque village in the middle of the coffee growing region. Read more

After breakfast, transfer to the airport in Armenia and flight via Bogotá to Cartagena de Indias. Welcome by the local travel guide. Transfer to hotel. The remainder of the day will be at the tourist’s disposal.

2 nights in the old center

After a good night's sleep, we will take a half-day tour around Cartagena-- one of the most impressive urban centers in Latin America awaits us. It is an ancient city constructed in the Spanish colonial style and surrounded by high defensive walls. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself falling in love with Cartagena’s intoxicating mix of history and Caribbean charm. The tour takes us around all the historic buildings and plazas of the old city, including the “La Popa” Convent and San Felipe Castle. The afternoon will be free for exploration of the old city or to bathe in the Caribbean Sea. Read more
