VIENTIANE – LUANG PRABANG

After breakfast we will transfer to the airport for our flight to Luang Prabang. Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1995, attracts an increasing number of tourists with its mix of gleaming temple roofs, decaying French colonial architecture, beautiful scenery and multiethnic inhabitants. In Luang Prabang we will boat trip on the Mekong River to visit Pak Ou Cave and several villages along the river. Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon free. Overnight in Luang Prabang. Read more

LUANG PRABANG

LUANG PRABANG – HANOI

Departure from the hotel very early to watch the daily ritual of monks begging in the streets of the city. Back to the hotel for breakfast. The rest of the morning will be devoted to visiting the former imperial capital, including the magnificent temples of Wat May, Wat Vixoum, Wat Xieng Thong and Phu Bi hill. After lunch we will transfer to the airport for our flight to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi, meet our guide, quick visa formalities and transfer to town. Overnight in Hanoi. Read more

HANOI – HALONG BAY

After breakfast we will depart for Halong Bay, stopping en route at a ceramics factory in Dong Trieu. Arrive in Halong late in the morning. Board your boat for a cruise in the extraordinarily beautiful World Heritage Site of Halong Bay. There will be time to swim in its emerald waters. Lunch and dinner featuring seafood will be served on board, and we will overnight on board as well. Read more

HALONG BAY – HANOI

A small snack will be served early as we resume our cruise. After visiting one of the bay’s natural caves we will return to the boat for a hearty brunch from 9.30 to 11.00. Return to Halong City in the late morning and depart for Hanoi. Along the way we will stop at a ceramics factory in Phu Lang. After arriving in Hanoi late in the afternoon we will visit the fascinating Old Quarter, the neighborhood of 36 streets and traditional craft guilds. Evening show at the Water Puppet Theatre, a traditional art form dating to the 11th century. Overnight in Hanoi. Read more

HANOI – HUE

The morning will be dedicated to visiting the sights of Hanoi, including the mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh, his old wooden stilt house, the One Pillar Pagoda, Tran Quoc Pagoda and Quan Thanh Temple and the Temple of Literature, over 900 years old and the first university in the country. After lunch we will visit the Museum of Ethnology. Late in the afternoon we will transfer to the airport for our flight to Hue. Traditionally, Hue has been one of Vietnam’s cultural, religious and educational centres. Hue served as the political capital from 1802 to 1945 under the 13 emperors of the Nguyen dynasty. After breakfast we will take a boat trip on the Perfume River, stopping at Thien Mu Pagoda, which is built on a hill overlooking the river, and the tomb of Emperor Minh Mang. After lunch the afternoon will be devoted to visiting the Imperial Enclosure, the tomb of Tu Duc and Dong Ba market. Overnight in Hue. Read more

HUE – HOI AN

Depart for Hoi An, going over spectacular Hai Van Pass, considered to be one of the most scenic in all of Vietnam. Stop in Danang to visit Cham Museum. A late breakfast will be served at the hotel in Hoi An. In 1999, the old town was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO as a well-preserved example of a Southeast Asian trading port of the 15th to 19th centuries, with buildings that display a unique blend of local and foreign influences. In the afternoon there will be a tour of Hoi An, including the Hoi An market, the Tan Ky House, the Chinese temple Phuc Kien, the Japanese covered bridge, a workshop producing silk and some free time for shopping. Late in the afternoon, return to the hotel by boat on the Thu Bon River. Overnight in Hoi An. Read more

HOI AN – DANANG – SAIGON

After breakfast, the morning will be free for strolling around town or going to the beach. Later we will transfer to Danang airport for our flight to Saigon, the city’s famous and historic landmarks. After checking in at your hotel there will be free time before dinner. Overnight in Saigon.

SAIGON

SAIGON – CU CHI – SAIGON

After breakfast, the morning will be devoted to visiting the famous Cu Chi tunnels, excavated during the war against the United States. Back to Saigon for lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit the central area and its buildings of French colonial architecture, the Notre Dame Cathedral and the central post office. Overnight in Saigon. Read more

SAIGON – CAN THO

After breakfast, we will continue our tour of the city, including Chinatown, Binh Tay Market and Thien Hau Pagoda. Depart for the Mekong Delta and Vietnam’s “rice bowl”, stopping in My Tho for lunch. Arrive in Can Tho in the late afternoon. Overnight in Can Tho.

CAN THO

CAN THO – CHAU DOC

Boat ride on the Hau Giang, a lower branch of the Mekong River, visiting Cai Rang, the largest and most well-known one in the Mekong Delta. Transfer to Chau Doc, where we will have breakfast at the hotel. Afterwards there will be a boat trip on the Mekong, visiting farms and meeting the inhabitants of the Muslim village of Ham. CHAU DOC – PHNOM PENH

Boat ride to Phnom Penh on the Mekong River, arriving at about noon. After booking our rooms, we will have lunch. Transfer to the airport for our flight to Siem Reap, the capital city of Siem Reap, province in northwestern Cambodia. After lunch, we will visit Banteay Srei, built in the 11th century. The afternoon will be dedicated entirely to visiting the best preserved and most famous of all the temples of Angkor Wat, honoring the Hindu god Vishnu.
