Luang Prabang was the ancient royal capital of the Lan Xang Kingdom until 1545. The town's entire historical section is dedicated to tourism, with everything from former royal palaces to over 33 Wats (temples). As the capital of Nguyen Dynasty in 18th through 19th centuries, Hue was a historic witness of the country's lots of ups and downs. Like Luang Prabang, Hue becomes tourism hub nowadays but still keep their very own charming unique characters.

Visit the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph, the Morning Market and the weaving village of Ban Nong Bouathong before your transfer to the airport and flight to Luang Prabang (QV101@1150-1230). Upon arrival Luang Prabang, transfer to the hotel. Lunch at local restaurant. Visit the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong where you can see the impressive “tree of life” mosaic pattern set in coloured glass. Its exterior architecture is remarkable with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, representing classical Laotian architecture. Next, Boat trip on the Mekong River and visit the cave of Pak Ou and several villages on the riverbanks. On return, stop at the local villages of Ban Xiengmene and Ban Chan then continue to see the royal temple at Wat Longkhoun. Early departure from the hotel to watch the daily ritual of monks begging in the streets of the city. Come back to the hotel for breakfast. Transfer to Noi Bai airport for boarding flight to Hue. Pick up at Phu Bai airport and transfer to hotel. Visit Dong Ba market, the Imperial Citadel from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945, and the ruins of the Purple Forbidden City. Cruise on the Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda and the mausoleum of Emperor Minh Mang, by car to visite of the royal tomb of Emperor Tu Duc. Hue: Former capital of the country from 1802 to 1945, Hue is often referred to as Vietnam’s most beautiful city and has long been a major cultural, religious and educational center. Surrounded by moats, the intriguing Purple Forbidden City which served as the residence of the Nguyen Emperors was constructed by Emperor Gia Long from 1804. Largely destroyed during the American War, the remains of the citadel, which have been partially restored, still contain interesting sights. About 15 km south of Hue are the imperial tombs with the most important being: Tu Duc, Minh Mang and Khai Dinh.
