Welcome to Dublin!

Arrive in Dublin. In the afternoon, take in the attractions of Europe’s most popular city. Don’t miss Trinity College, the Book of Kells, the National Museum, the National Gallery and trendy Temple Bar. Taking a break from sight-seeing, Grafton St. (Dublin’s favourite shopping district) has everything you need to relax. Visit Bewley’s Café and enjoy an Irish coffee in a favourite venue of many of Dublin’s literary greats. Venture down Wicklow St. to find quaint bistros and the Powerscourt Shopping Centre, which boasts the perfect combination of variety and a stunning setting or maybe go alfresco with a picnic in St. Stephen’s Green. Once you’re refreshed, it’s back on the trail again seeking out all that Dublin has to offer. Read more

Dublin to Donegal

Leave Dublin after breakfast and drive Northwest via Enniskillen. Stop at the impressive Sliabh League (Slieve League) cliffs at Ti Linn. The cliffs are among the highest sea cliffs in Europe and they rise 601m from sea level and offer magnificent views across the Atlantic ocean across Donegal Bay to counties Letrim, Sligo and Mayo. Admire the traditional Tweed weavers at Studio Donegal in Kilcar, which promotes local materials and tradition in their production. Read more

Inishowen Peninsula

Today explore around the Inishowen Peninsula which is the largest peninsula in all of the island of Ireland. With Lough Foyle to the east and Lough Swilly to the west it also includes Ireland’s northernmost point – Malin Head – reaching far into the Atlantic Ocean. Inishowen is a remote, rugged, desolate and sparsely populated place with ancient sites and ruined castles abound, conveying an evocative picture of a vibrant and unfolding past. You can also visit the Fanad Head. This marvellous peninsula is most famous for its iconic Lighthouse and the unspoilt beaches. Especially the Blue Flag beach at Ballymastocker Bay is breathtakingly gorgeous and was once voted as the 2nd most beautiful beach in the world. Read more

Donegal to Mayo

Leave Donegal for county Sligo. Follow the Wild Atlantic Way and stop at Drumcliffe where you'll fin an important monastic settlement founded by St. Colmcille in the 6th Century.. Besides being home to the remains of a round tower and an inscribed high cross, the site is also the resting place of the much loved Irish poet W.B. Yeats. Admire the views of impressive Ben Bulben- mountain. Take a dip in one of the many traditional seaweed baths along the Sligo coast, a mix of hot Atlantic seawater and hand harvested fresh seaweed. Start your day with a visit to Westport, a charming seaside town located by the stunning Clew Bay. The story says there are 365 little islands on the bay - one for each day of the year! The holy mountain of Croagh Patrick is an impressive sight on a clear day and you'll often see people climbing it - some of them even bare feet. Drive through the stunning Doolough Valley and alongside the Killary Harbour, Ireland's only fjord, and continue to Galway along Connemaras rough Atlantic coastline. Dingle Peninsula

Today explore around the Dingle Peninsula. This mass of land, which stretches for roughly 48km (30 mi) juts out into the Atlantic Ocean has some of the most beautiful coastal drives you will ever experience in Ireland. The Peninsula is home to the mountain range of Slieve Mish, Ireland second highest peak (Mount Brandon) as well as various cliffs fronts and beaches. Follow the coastal road up to Slea Head, the most Western point in Europe, laze on the beautiful sandy beach and enjoy the views of the Blasket Islands . Visit the colourful Dingle village in the afternoon, famed for it’s extraordinary seafood and its famous inhabitant—Fungi the dolphin! Read more

Ring of Kerry

The Ring of Kerry is one of Ireland’s most scenic touring routes. At 179 km long, it circles the awe-inspiring Iveragh Peninsula. You’ll feel as if you have moved into nature’s mystic arena, and truly you have, as you pass between soft mountains, through forest glades, around bogs, rivers, lakes and pristine beaches. The road between the magnificent MacGillycuddy Reeks Mountains presents secret passes and valleys dotted along the fabled shores of Dingle and Kenmare Bays. Ireland’s natural beauty sings throughout the Ring of Kerry. You may wish to explore several charming villages along the route, including Glenbeigh, Waterville, and Sneem. Cork to Dublin

You will leave the Atlantic Coast today and head back to Dublin. Stop in Cork on the way back and visit the famous English Market, whose stalls have been packed with foods from the world over, since Victorian times.. Arrive back to Dublin in the late afternoon, enjoy a last pint in one of the many pubs in Dublin or take a drive to the coastal village of Howth to enjoy a stroll along the harbour and some fabulous seafood.
