Explore South Africa's mother city Cape Town with all its wonderful attractions, enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the winelands and the scenic route R62 which you will take from there to the Little Karoo - home to the ostrich feather industry and end in the heart of the Garden Route, in Kynsna.
At arrival in Cape Town, collect your car at the airport and make your way to your hotel La Splendida, where you will be staying for 3 nights. If you arrive early enough, explore the city either in your own car, or prebook a city tour in advance through us.
Explore the Cape Peninsular with your own car. Drive all the way to the Cape of Good Hope via the scenic Chapman's Peak drive and on the way back, stop in Simons Town to see the penguins. And if you are interested, have a look at Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden afterwards.
Our recommendation for this day is to go to Robben Island (should be prebooked by you) and enjoy the city for the rest of the day. Cape Town as endless fantastic restaurants, so ask your hotel for the latest recommendation. In whale season, a day trip to see the Southern Right Whales from Hermanus can be prebooked. Read more
After breakfast, leave Cape Town and make your way to the stunningly beautiful landscapes of the Cape Winelands. Check in at Hawksmoor House, where you will stay for the night and then go for a wine tasting. The drive from Cape Town only takes 1 hour.
Don't leave too late, because the drive along the scenic route R62 through the Little Karoo will take about 5 hours, without stops. The destination today is Oudtshoorn, which is known for its ostrich feather industry and the famous Cango Caves. If you arrive early enough, you can still visit both this afternoon, if not, you can one in the morning, on your way to Knysna. Read more
Very recommendable, before you leave to Knysna, is to join the 'Into the Wild' tour from the Guest Fram, to encounter their little Meerkat colony (can be prebooked through us, but has to be paid directly ZAR 500 per person). The drive to Knysna will only take about 1 hour and there you will stay for 2 nights at Belvidere Manor in a Lagoon Classic Room. Read more
Enjoy the small town of Knysna with its unspoiled beaches and the beautiful waterfront, or go and visit the Featherbed Nature Reserve, the Elephant Sanctuary, 'Bird of Eden', or Monkeyland Prime Sanctuary. In the evening have a meal at one of the Waterfront Restaurants.
Enjoy your last breakfast in South Africa, before you drive back along the N2 to Cape Town, to drop off your car and fly home. Extension nights can arranged.
