This trip is a combination of visiting the ancient historical monuments and culture in Kathmandu valley combined with visit to Pokhara - city of lakes and the gateway to the Annapurna Himalayas. A short trek to Ghandrung 1940m, the largest Gurung settlement in the area is the highlight of this trip Make a pre-dawn excursion to Poon Hill 3191m (45 minutes to the top) the highlight of this trek for marvelous views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himals.
Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport you are received and transferred to your hotel
A full day tour beginning with Swyambhunath stupa a Buddhist Chaitya said to be more than 2000 years old perched on a hillock 77 meters above the valley floor, offering a bird's eye view of Kathmandu city. Proceed to Patan also known as Lalitpur or the city of fine arts. The tour starts at the Durbar square offering a glimpse of medieval Nepalese architecture. Visit the Krishna temple the only temple built by stone in Nepal, the Royal bath with it's most intricately carved water spouts. We then visit Bhaktapur known as the city of devotees. Walk through the brick paved palace square overlooked by the palace of the 55 windows with its imposing golden gate. Fly 25 minutes to reach Pokhara where your trek guide will be waiting. Drive to Nayapool and commence trek to Hille 1495m offering excellent views of the mountains. Overnight a small lodge/inn.
After breakfast start trekking to reach Ghorepani 2834 m.. Overnight lodge
Make a pre-dawn excursion to Poon Hill 3191m for marvelous views of Mt Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himal. Return to Tadapani for breakfast and trek to Tadapani.
Easy walking past unusually oval-shaped homes and you come to the flag- stone-lined up streets of the Gurung settlement of the Ghandrung 1940m, the largest Gurung settlement in the area, the people are friendly but take your Sardar with you while exploring. You may get lost.
Trek to Birethanti, descend to Nayapoolwhich is the only 20 minutes hike and from Birethanti drive back to Pokhara. Overnight at Hotel. Rest of day free.
After breakfast a half day tour of Pokhara comprising visit to the Bindabasani Temple, old Pokhara bazaar, David's fall, the Tibetan center and the Phewa lake. Loiter around the waterfront with its innumerable pubs, restaurants, hotels and souvenir shops. Return to the hotel. Rest of the day free to relax or explore around. Read more
Mid morning fly back to Kathmandu ( 25 minutes). Check in Hotel Rest of the day free for last minute shopping or exploring around.
Free till your time of transfer to the airport to connect your onward flight.
