During two full day excursions we will visit El Calafate. The first one will involve visiting the National Park, bordering Argentinian Lake until reaching the Glacier that we will be able to observe through the different levels of the gateway. In the second one, we will navigate in a bote through the Nordic Arm of Argentinian Lake between incredible floes of different shapes.
Arrival at the Airport of El Calafate. You will be welcomed by part of our guides and then transfer to hotel chosen. Arrival in the city, accommodation.
After breakfast we will start the tour. This is the classic full day excursion departing at 9.30 am and coming back at about 5.30 pm. You will begin from El Calafate to the National Park, travelling about 80 km. You will be bordering Argentinian Lake being able to admire a big variety of European hares, maras, owls and blackberry eagles, then it enters a beech forest, and evergreen ñires on the Brazo Rico of 150 km2 towards the viewpoint of the glacier. From here and through gateways at different levels, the ice mass of 190 km2 can be seen. Return to hotel and night of accommodation. Read more
After having breakfast, we will be taken from the Hotel to Punta Banderas. From here, the boat will start navigating the entire day bordering the north arm of Argentinian Lake. The tour crosses Spegazzini and Upsala Glaciers, entering in their bays and it also includes the navigation through the cord floes located about 20km from Upsala Glacier. The first part of the way involves crossing the “Boca del Diablo”, the narrowest part of the lake, then going to the Upsala Canal and Spegazzini Canal, you will be able to appreciate the glaciers. After breakfast, we will have a free day until the “pick up time” in order to go to El Calafate Airport.
