Drive to Lake Bunyonyi & Equator

Today you begin your journey to a beautiful island in Lake Bunyonyi, the “Lake of the little birds”. It’s one of the most beautiful places of Uganda. Being surrounded by hills, people call it “The Switzerland of Africa. Lake Bunyonyi is one of the few lakes in the region that is rumored to be free of bilharzias and safe for swimming. On your way to Lake Bunyonyi, you stop at the equator in Masaka town. Also watch a demonstration by local entrepreneurs on how water swirls in opposite directions in the northern & southern hemispheres at the equator line. Another reason that make equator worthwhile stop are the great shopping bargains. The point has got several craft shops and art galleries run by individuals and organizations. These craft stalls sell souvenirs and handmade products while some with marks talking about the Equator. It will not be inconveniencing if you bought a T-shirt with words ‘I crossed the Uganda Equator. Read more

Today afternoon, you embark on your journey to Ruhija East of Bwindi that lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley and it is famous as a center visitor for the rare mountain gorillas and the drive is incredibly scenic, passing through various local villages and the lush green countryside & hills which characterize so much of south western Uganda. Today you go to track the rare mountain gorillas!!! After a briefing from your ranger guide, begin tracking the mountain gorillas through the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This can take a couple of hours or a whole day depending on the location of the apes. NB don’t forget to carry with you your packed lunches. It is a humbling experience to stand just meters from man’s distant cousins as they eat ,rest, play and bond with their young ones. Follow the mountain gorillas as they range freely in the impenetrable forest, and discover their gorgeous natural habitat and the many species they share it with. After the gorilla trek, head back to your accommodation for rest. N.B Accommodation depends on the group of the Gorillas to be tracking. Read more

Queen Elizabeth national park & Ishasha

After your breakfast, you will start your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park and you will have an afternoon game drive in Ishasha sector part of the park. The Ishasha sector is notably recognized for its resident Tree climbing lions that are an exceptional attraction and one among the highlights on all safaris taken within Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the southern section of this park, the Lions are now and again spotted hanging on branches of huge fig trees whereas the Uganda Kob (which are the major food to these lions) graze in the plains of the Ishasha sector. The Ishasha sector is located near the far most south-western rim of Queen Elizabeth National Park which is not only the most well liked park but also the most traveled to national park within Uganda. Morning Game Drive (Ishasha) & Boat in A

After breakfast, you go for a short morning game drive and you will search for all the wildlife in the park; Elephants, Buffaloes, Lions, Water-buck, Leopard, Uganda Kob, Warthog, etc. and transfer to the north of the park at Bush lodge. After lunch, you will take a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel in the afternoon. Here, you will see a lot of hippos (more than you can possibly imagine!), as well as a variety of other animals which come to the waterhole to drink or bath. You can expect to see: Buffaloes, Crocodiles, bathing Elephants, and a range of beautiful birds. This will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your tour. Morning Game Drive and Free Afternoon

You will have early breakfast and prepare for the game drive that takes 3-5 hours depending on your interest. The Park covers an area of about 1978 km squared; its position provides a magnificent view of the rift valley floor that occupies Lake Edward and Gorge. The park has one of the highest bio diversity ratings of any national park in the world as its well known to be habitat of about 95 mammals along with 612 species of birds. The landscape in this section of the magnificent park is considerably different from that found in other parts of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Drive to Kibale forest National Park, Sw

Today after breakfast, you proceed to Kibale forest national park, The Park is home to a total of 70 mammal species, most famously 13 species of primate including the chimpanzee. On your arrival in the afternoon after lunch, you proceed for a swamp walk; your swamp walk (2-3 hours) will take you through grassland, small communities and some beautiful scenery, where the locals are likely to greet you with enthusiastic waves. It is usual to spot 3 or 4 different primate species during this walk, though the highlight is catching a glimpse of the Great Blue Turaco! You will stay at kibale forest camp “Where better to capture the thrill of a howling black and white colobus or to listen to the wood owl calling his partner, than from the comfort of a spacious, en-suite tent! Chimp Trekking & Afternoon crater walk

Either in the morning or afternoon you start your journey to the chimpanzees. The experienced Uganda wildlife ranger takes you chimp tracking. Chimps have been tracked since 1993 and the chances of locating them are excellent. Guided walks start at 8:00.am and 2:00 pm and last an average of three hours, depending on various factors. Beside the chimps, thirteen species can be sought, and a good variety of diurnal monkeys invariably encountered during your trek to the chimpanzees. Today, in the morning or afternoon (depending on the time for chimp tracking) you have a crater-lake hike. Read more

Drive Back to Kampala:

After breakfast, head back to Kampala for a city tour where you will visit the numerous crafts markets, Kampala taxi park with hundreds of commuter taxis jam parked in a small park (you will be guided to climb the adjacent high buildings to have an aerial view of this sometimes chaotic park), option of visiting Kampala’s biggest Mosque that was sponsored by Late Muamar Gaddafi – the former President of Libya or the only Baha'i Temple in Africa . You will Lunch in a nice restaurant of your choice in Kampala and drive to your Accommodation or Entebbe international airport for the flight back home. Read more
