ESTANCIAS & GLACIERS (8D/7N)

If, for most of your life, you have ridden horses, this could be one of your next adventures. Six hours riding, on average, per day during 6 days we will venture inside Torres Del Paine and Bernardo O'Higgins National Parks. We invite you visit 4 different glaciers accompanied by charismatic gauchos, who will make this journey full of laughter, while we listen to their endless tales and experiences. http://www.chilenativo.travel/ing/expedicion.asp?ac

Transfer to Estancia Tercera Barranca

We recommend you take the early flight from Santiago to Punta Arenas (4 hours), flying over the Andes and observing incredible views of the Patagonian Ice Fields. Upon your arrival in Punta Arenas, the most southern city on the continent, a private transfer will be waiting to take you to the border of Torres del Paine National park, the Estancia Tercera Barranca. As we leave the airport we can see the Straits of Magellan and the mystical Tierra del Fuego. During our five-hour drive, we cross open pampas passing huge ranches (estancias) and with luck we will be able to see one of the most typical animals in this area, the ñandu, (a rare South American ostrich). We pass by Puerto Natales, located on the Sound of Last Hope, a small fishing town surrounded by mountains. From there we will follow an unpaved road to Estancia Tercera Barranca, a typical example of an estancia in the region, with an amazing view of the famous Towers del Paine granite peaks. Read more

1 night at Tercera Barranca

Round trip Ride to Las Chinas Waterfall

Today we embark on Torres del Paine ride to the east of the National park. The first couple of hours will be across the Patagonian steppe, which is found on flatlands and plateaus with semi-arid, cold climates and an annual precipitation of up to 400 mm. After 3 hours riding will reach a waterfall “Salto Las Chinas”, where we have lunch before we start our Torres del Paine ride back to our cozy ranch house. In the evening we will gather in front of the fireplace, with a Pisco sour in hand (Chilean brandy made from Muscatel grapes) to enjoy a Lamb barbecue Patagonian style. Read more

Round trip ride to Glacier Grey Lookout

After a good breakfast at the campsite we will start our day by riding to Grey Lake look at point. We cross a huge pampas that give us the opportunity to canter as much as we want! Once we reach the Grey River, we follow a narrow path with incredible views of the mountains; until we arrive to a splendid view of the lake Pehoe with its particular turquoise colored waters. We continue our Torres del Paine ride following a rugged trail leading to a look-out point of Lake Grey, often full of icebergs, which have broken off from the Grey Glacier, part of the southern ice field which is the third largest reserve of fresh water in the world. Our lunch will be in front of this magnificent view. We come back to our camp on the same trail, enjoying the opportunity for more cantering through the pampas. Read more

The trip was all that I had hoped for. Torres del Paine is spectacular and not to be missed. Although I could have done this trip on my own, I wouldn't have learned all that I did, and the boat trip to Grey Glacier wouldn't have been possible. It was a memorable trip! Felipe knew so much about the region and he willingly shared all he knew. Overall, an excellent experience. Torres del Paine is a place not to be missed. Read more

Thank you to Chile Nativo for this awesome and very special trip at Torres del Paine! It was organized perfectly - beginning with Johana, who was always very friendly, helpful when ever there were questions arising prior to the trip or even when urgent support was needed just the night before the trip. I was very thankful and appreciated that a lot! During the trip itself, even though some of the hikes were unexpectedly demanding (but still a joy!), we always had enough time so we didn't need to rush through the park, but enjoy the scenery instead when ever we wanted, and take our time to get from A to B. It is certainly a very special place down there at Torres del Paine, and I'm glad we were able to fully enjoy it's beauty! Read more
