An early morning before noon arrival at Windhoek International Airport is crucial. Your spectacular holiday journey begins as we proceed to the seaside town of Walvis Bay and Swakopmund located on the Skeleton Coast. Swakopmund is a very pleasant seaside town with lots of shops, a good stretch of beach (although the Atlantic here is quite cold) and an open-air curio market. There is also a very good museum and the Namibian National Marine Aquarium is located in Swakopmund. Read more
Today is a free day, there are various optional activities that can be arranged. These include airplane and micro-light flights over the desert, scenic drives, fishing trips (both from the beach or in a boat), four-wheel motorcycle (quad bike) trips into the desert and over the sand dunes around Swakopmund, sand boarding trips (also in the dunes), skydiving, surfing, bird-watching and many other activities are available. Your tour guide will discuss all the possible options with you before you reach Swakopmund and will offer to make bookings in advance of your arrival. Read more
We leave the coastal town early in the morning to Etosha National Park, Etosha is home to 4 of the Big 5 (elephant, rhino, leopard and lion) as well as a vast quantity of game and birdlife. You will spend 3 nights in bungalows inside the park at the rest camps which all have floodlit waterholes for excellent night time game viewing. We travel along the vast salt pan, stopping at various waterholes and game viewing spots along the way in the park. As you continue to your overnight stop you're certain to see plenty of wildlife and eerily beautiful scenery. Namutoni is situated on the eastern side of Etosha pan, just inside the von Lindequist entrance to Etosha National Park. It is an improbably beautiful Beau Geste-style fort situated in an area dotted with graceful makalani palms, Hyphaene petersiana. It derives its name from the old German fort around which it is built and it overlooks the King Nehale waterhole. The presence of this fort undoubtedly gives Namutoni more character than the other rest camps inside the park. Read more
After an early morning game drive, we enjoy our breakfast before we exit the park on our way to Windhoek, we continue on a good road and we have time to stop in Okahandja town, home to Namibia’s largest woodcarving market. The stalls are operated on a co-operative basis by the local community and the market is a perfect place to do last minute shopping for truly Namibian souvenirs. Depending on the time of your departure flight, you will be transferred to International Airport for your outbound flight. Read more
