Flight from Puerto Ordaz to Canaima (1h). This flight overflies the savanna, the forest and the tepuys of the Canaima National Park. Settle the left side of the plane to enjoy the most beautiful landing in South America!! Installation at the camp and lunch. This afternoon, we go discover the Salto Sapo. We cross the Canaima Lagoon aboard a curiara (typical local boat) with motor along the beautiful falls. The magic begins to work... Arrivals on Anatoly Island, a short walk (20min) takes us to a viewpoint which offers a magnificent view of the surrounding savannah and towering tepuis in the background. It seems a T-Rex can arise at any time before you? No wonder, many scenes of Jurassic Park were filmed here... Highlight of the afternoon, a cave formed behind the waterfall of Salto Sapo allows us to cross the entire falls between the rock and the powerful curtain of water. Thrills and bath guaranteed!! Breakfast at the lodge. Early wake up for the great adventure!! Today we go to enjoy Angel Falls. We navigate up the Rio Carrao and Rio Churrun in a motorized wooden canoe amidst the fabulous landscape of Canaima National Park (about 3 hours of navigation). Auyantepuy, the largest of the tepui appears huge for us. Sitting on our boat in the rapids that our Pemon driver crossed without blinking, we feel pretty small next to this enormous mass of old rocks aged of millions of years. Breakfast during ascent. Great opportunity to stretch our legs. Arrival at Isla Raton, a walk in the forest (1h) leads us to a rocky promontory that offers a breathtaking view of the Angel Falls, the highest waterfall in the world (979m). Obligatory photo shoot!! Selfies lovers will be thrilled!! Well-deserved lunch beside the river before descending to the camp. Arrived late in the day. Dinner and night. Note: During the dry season between December and May, the level of the river does not always allow the ascent to the base of Angel Falls.
