DAY 1
Road transfer from Kasane to Chobe River
Chobe Safari Lodge is situated in Kasane on the banks of the Chobe River and shares a border with Chobe National Park. Right on our doorstep is the meeting of four African countries: Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Chobe Safari Lodge therefore offers an excellent getaway location to Chobe, Victoria Falls or Caprivi. Including a day trip to Victoria Falls. Our close proximity to Victoria Falls International Airport, Livingstone International Airport and Kasane International Airport makes us easily accessible, with daily road transfers or charter flights connecting all these airports with Chobe Safari Lodge. Day 1 & 2 - Chobe Game Lodge

Chobe Game Lodge offers a choice of land or water-based activities and the most complete game experience in the Chobe National Park. Early-morning and late-afternoon game drives are conducted by our expert guides in open-sided 4x4 vehicles to ensure maximum visibility of Chobe National Park’s spectacular scenery and abundant wildlife. Meanwhile, riverside game viewing may be done from small and highly manoeuvrable boats, perfect for morning or sunset cruises. Chobe's diverse wildlife roams in abundance – it is, for instance, home to the largest concentration of elephant in Africa. During the dry season these large herds, as well as vast herds of buffalo, congregate on the fertile flood plains along the Chobe River to drink, bathe and play. There are frequent sightings of lion, African wild dog, puku, red lechwe, sable, giraffe and roan antelope. Read more

Road transfer from Chobe River to Kasane
Lebala is situated in the south of the Kwando concession, adjacent to the head waters of the Linyanti marshes that form the boundary between Botswana and Namibia. The southerly flowing Kwando river disappears into the vast marshland before emerging as the Linyanti river. The triangle formed by this vast wetland is home to the Mamili National Park in Namibia. Lebala means ‘wide open spaces’ in Setswana and the scenery is dominated by vast plains with scattered palms and tree islands backed by wooded savannahs. This wild expanse contrasts with the casual understated elegance and luxury of the camp itself. Read more

This special ecosystem is home to a wide variety of Africa’s plains game such as zebra, wildebeest, impala, giraffe and tsessebe and also provides refuge to lechwe, waterbuck and the shy sitatunga. The camp itself is comprised of eight custom designed tents, with unique mosquito net walls, allowing an unobstructed flow of cooling breezes and stunning views. Fly from Kwando to PomPom
The Camp is located on Pom Pom Island in a private concession situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta and on the head waters of the Xudum river system. The area lies on the western boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve and offers superb Okavango scenery and a true Okavango wilderness experience. Overlooking the legendary Chiefs Island and bordering the Moremi Game Reserve, Gunn's Camp is one of the last few remaining luxury, vintage safari camps. Set under leafy palms and African Ebony to blend naturally with its unique surroundings, Gunn's Camp achieves a fine balance of comfort without isolating guests from the sights and sounds of the wilderness. Jamie's experience and planning we were able to watch the African sun set with a leopard, sit and watch painted dogs and their pups hunting and playing and an elephant swim across the Chobe River. Our meals, accommodation and transport were all enjoyable and exceeded our expectations. It was great to stay at 2 different lodges at Kwandwe and being ushered off to our first game drive before checking into our lodges was more than welcome. Despite the unexpectedly cooler weather, the wildlife at the reserve was remarkable. The transfer from Zambia to the Elephant Camp was seamless and in addition to the beautiful Vic Falls, the morning walk with Sylvester, the cheetah, was truly amazing. Botswana definitely provided much warmer weather and the wildlife there was very special. It's hard for me to settle back into my life at home after such an exhilarating trip through East Africa! Our group was ideal size of 8 and a mixture of well experienced Africa travelers and first timers. The pre-departure information was so good the newbies were just as prepared as the others.
