Arrive in Johannesburg and make you way to the domestic terminal for your flight to Kruger International Airport, where you will be collected and road transferred to your lodge inside the National Park. A typical day on safari begins as dawn breaks over the African bush, a gentle tap on your door will wake you to the delights of a new day. Your ranger will discuss what you hope to see that day over fragrant tea or coffee and morning biscuits or rusks. Phinda Private Game Reserve is home to all of the Big Five, but is particularly well known for its cheetah and rhino. Venture out in search of big cats and large mammals. Return to your lodge for a delicious breakfast. If you wish, you can walk off your breakfast on a short walk near your lodge, accompanied by your ranger, who will share his insight into the smaller animals and vegetation in the area, before returning in time for lunch. Your evening drive begins in the late afternoon and lasts until after dark, when spotlights are used for a glimpse into the nocturnal bush life. Drive down to one of the reserve's dams to watch the animals drink and bathe or watch out for predators getting ready for the hunt. After your morning activity you will be transferred by road to Idube Safari Lodge in the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, arriving in time for your afternoon game drive. dube is a safari lodge situated in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve and has 10 comfortable chalets, set amongst green lawns and shady trees. In between drives, guests can enjoy the pool and bird watch, or relax on their private decks and watch the warthogs and the nyala families on the lawn. Early morning and late afternoon game drives are conducted in an area of approximately 24 700 acres (10 000 hectares). Guests can expect to see some, if not all, the Big 5, as well as many other species of game and some of the over 300 species of birds. Animals are usually seen from very close quarters and sightings are professionally handled. Game drives are typically 3 to 4 hours long, with a stop along the way for tea, coffee or sundowners.
