This tour is for the wildlife enthusiast. You will be collected in Johannesburg and transferred to the Marakele National Park. Here we transfer to a specially designed open safari vehicle. Game viewing begins as soon as we enter the gates, and we look for Giraffe, Zebra and various antelope species on our way to the camp where welcome drinks are waiting for you. We rise before the sun and embark on a morning Bush walk to try and get up close with the friendly rhino at this park. We head back to the camp for breakfast and then head out to look for large game species from elephant and rhino to the big cats as well as an amazing variety of birds including what’s probably the largest colony of endangered Cape vultures (more than 800 breeding pairs) in the world, have settled here. During the hottest part of the day, you have time to explore the camp and have Lunch. On this morning we rise at leisure to a hearty breakfast overlooking the dam. We then depart on our Journey to Mapungubwe National Park stopping along the way for lunch. Your chef welcomes you on your arrival with refreshments and 3 course Dinner for you to enjoy.
Today we explore the Mapungubwe National Park and World Heritage Site which is the ideal location for anyone interested in the park's wildlife and birds, to those in search of serenity, identity and the extraordinary history of this World Heritage Site. We visit a tree top bird hide along the Limpopo River where elephants walk beneath us. During the day we move camp to our own private Wilderness Camp, that has been built on a small ridge within a valley, within walking distance of the Limpopo River and Mapungubwe Hill. On this morning we rise at leisure to a hearty breakfast and then make our way back to Johannesburg up the Escarpment and through the scenic Lowveld area and back to the wide open spaces of the Highveld. We stop for Lunch alone the way. Drop off at the airport or hotel in Johannesburg.
