This adventure safari is for those who want a more hands on experience. We cover several beautiful areas in South Africa: rock climbing in Waterval Boven, kloofing at Mac Mac falls and big 5 game viewing at the one and only Kruger Park.
The tour departs Johannesburg (Pretoria) at 08:00 for Waterval Boven. We take a brief pit stop to grab some lunch and snacks for our climbing excursion. We'll settle into our chalet/guest house and head out for our afternoon climbing adventure in the beautiful valleys and cliffs of the area. No climbing experience required! Time to freshen up when we return before taking in a well deserved dinner in town. Lights out! Read more
After a scrumptious breakfast and time permitting we'll pass by the old mining town of Kaapsehoop with some stunning views of the De Kaap valley below. We'll grab some lunch in Nelspruit before entering the Kruger Park to settle into our accommodation. An afternoon game drive is in order! We arrive back to camp to a sunset braai (barbecue) cooked by your guide. Take a load off and enjoy the camp fire as we take in the beauty of the park at night and get ready for the days to come. We hit the ground running on day 3 at 05:30 with coffee and biscuits before departing for a sunrise game drive in an open top vehicle. Returning to camp we'll sit down for a hearty breakfast and some leisure time. The middle of the day can be quite hot so a chance to lounge by the pool is most welcome. We continue on in search of the BIG 5 by visiting alternative parts of the park. Our guides like to stay in the park as long as possible and look to catch a sunset before returning to camp for dinner. Read more
We depart again early, this time for a guided bush walk, offering us a completely different view of the park. Hungry stomachs will be filled with breakfast at the restaurant afterwards. Once again we'll have some leisure time during the day to either spend by the pool or take in more game. Today we will have an early dinner as we have a fantastic night drive in an open top vehicle organised! Keep your eyes peeled, many of these animals are not visible during the day. Read more
We enjoy our last breakfast in the park before breaking camp and heading out. We exit the park and make our way to our Blyde River Canyon to check out God's window and the Three Rondawels before finding our way back to camp for our Canyoning adventure the following day.
After breakfast we meet for our kloofing adventure through the mac mac river which ends at the waterfall. Kloofing is a South African word which describes some very wet hiking. Prepare to be soaked with plenty of adventure today! We'll have some free time in the afternoon to relax and then grab some dinner before preparing for our last day. Read more
Our return trip will not be rushed as we grab our last breakfast and take the long trip back to Johannesburg through the scenic roads and hills of the Mpumalanga area. Tour ends
Our safari experience exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Doug, was fantastic. He helped us set up activities that we would enjoy and woke us up in the morning to make sure we'd get to them on time. He was extremely knowledgeable about where, when, and how to look for animals while we were driving around the park. He even helped us find better accommodations in Johannesburg. There is something said about the African bush, once you visit once you'll want to go back. I couldn't agree more. Our guide, made this an unforgettable experience allowing us to not see just the big five, but introduced us to the little 5 such as the rhino beetle. Never would have known they existed without his knowledge. Not usually one for camping, but loved the real bush experience. Read more
We had the most wonderful, authentic bush experience with Adventure Anywhere. To see Cheetah in the wild was really amazing. Every part of our tour was well organised and enjoyable.
