Welcome to Cambodia. Upon arrival in Siem Reap obtain your Cambodian visa, if you haven't already. Clear Immigration and Customs and proceed into the arrival area. This morning you will have the option to visit the magnificent Angkor Wat for sunrise. The earlier you rise the better - the complex can get quite busy at sunrise so to arrive when the moon and the stars are still out is ideal, where you will essentially have the temples to yourselves in the most magical of settings. In the afternoon take a boat trip around Mechrey, a floating village on the Tonle Sap Lake that is almost untouched by tourism to this day. This morning you will be picked up at 9:15 AM. Boat trip to Koh Rong Samloeum (the first protected beach in Cambodia) You will be picked up at your hotel by Party boat’s transportation and transfer you to Serendipity Beach from where the “Party Boat” is leaving on a day tour to Koh Rong Samloen. An unforgettable day in Cambodia on the beautiful islands; Koh Rong Samloem Island is a pearl, surrounded by turquoise blue water. We will anchor in Saracene Bay, with a white squeaky beach and the first protected lagoon in Cambodia. You may also walk into a tropical rain forest and mangrove river. On our way to the island, we´ll stop at Koh Tas, which is one a secret spots for amazing coral garden snorkeling. Your day, depending on the tide, starts at around 10 am for the 45-minute boat ride past Tatai village to the falls. Turning on to a tributary, you head into the heart of the Cardamom jungle to the far-off sounds of exotic birds and its secretive wildlife. Within minutes, you are at journey’s end, gazing down into the turbulent waters of the falls. Soon it is time for lunch, maybe a few moments hydro-massage and a refreshing drink as you find some shade for a picnic and open your senses to the sights and sounds of the jungle. We will also arrange to transport some kayaks for your added fun and adventure. Phnom Penh city tour & Depar
After breakfast, depart on traditional cyclo tour through the heart of Phnom Penh. Cycle to the holy site of Wat Phnom where a 14th century stupa and a small pagoda stand. It is the tallest religious structure in the city. Continue along the riverside promenade, stopping at the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda. Although some 60% of the pagoda’s contents were destroyed under Pol Pot’s regime, what remains is spectacular. This is one of the best places in all of Cambodia where objects embodying the brilliance of the Khmer civilization can still be viewed; continue to visit the National Museum with its huge collection of Khmer sculpture and artifacts recovered from Angkor. Lunch will be at the Friends Restaurant, which provides under priviledged street children with the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of the hospitality business.
