Borneo, a giant, rugged island in Southeast Asia’s Malay Archipelago, is shared by the Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak, Indonesian Kalimantan and the tiny nation of Brunei. It’s known for its beaches and ancient, biodiverse rainforest, home to wildlife including orangutans and clouded leopards. In Sabah is 4,095m-tall Mount Kinabalu, the island’s highest peak, and, offshore, the famed dive site Sipadan Island.

Breakfast at hotel. Morning, pick up and depart to Semenggoh Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre situated about ½ hour drive from Kuching, here, the orang utans are being nurtured to readapt themselves to the jungle life. You will have the chance to observe the Semi-Wild Orang Utans coming out of the forest for the feeding time. Visitors are allowed to study and observe the orang utans at a distance. After Semenggoh, depart to Annah Rais Bidayuh Longhouse. The Bidayuhs are known for the expert craftsmanship with bamboo and you will notice this in the structure of the longhouse. Tour the longhouse with your guide and observe the leisure-paced lifestyle of the natives. Among the interesting relics are the “Canon of Peace” and several human skulls which are about 100 years old. After tour, return to Kuching. Transfer back to hotel for free at own leisure. Breakfast at hotel. Pick-up and proceed to Bako National Part. The trip will take approximately one and a half hours by land and boat. Upon arrival you will visit the spectacular ‘Sea Stack‘.Bako was established as a national park in 1957. Since then it has offered it’s visitors the perfect introduction to Sarawak’s native vegetation and wildlife. It is situated on the northern tip of the Muara Tebas Peninsula and covers 27sq kms. Although seemingly small compared to other national parks, Bako is rich in a vast variety of vegetation and wildlife as it extends out to coastal beaches and coves. Upon arrival a guide take you along well-planned trails where you will see an abundance of flora and fauna amongst the shady forest canopy. You will see winding creepers and vines, long tailed macaques and silver leaf monkeys. Wild boars, squirrels and monitor lizards are common sights in the park and you may even get a chance to peak on the shy proboscis monkeys during low tide with the help of your guide. Departure Kuching / Arrival Kota Kinabalu / Wetland River Safari (B / D) Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Kuching airport for flight to Kota Kinabalu. Upon arrival, meet & greet services and check in at Gaya Centre Hotel. 1330hrs depart from the city hotel and the journey takes approximately 2 hours drive to the wetland area off of Kota Kinabalu. Enjoy the scenic view as you pass through paddy fields, oil palm plantation and native houses among others. Upon arrival, light refreshment (local tea / coffee served with local cakes) is served in the typical village house. With the bizarre-looking proboscis monkeys gaining as much popularity with the tourists as the Orang Utan, the mangrove forest with its large proboscis population is fast becoming the latest ecotourism destination in Sabah. These tree-dwelling animals normally hunt for food in the evenings. Other riverside residents that may be spotted are macaques, crocodiles, monitor lizards, tree snakes and birds such as the eagle. On your way back to the jetty enjoy a natural light show when thousands of fireflies put on a glowing performance for your benefit. A sumptuous kampong styled dinner is served. After dinner, return to Kota Kinabalu. Overnight at hotel. Read more
Breakfast at hotel. 0730hrs pick up from the hotel and proceed for about 3 hours drive to Poring Hot Springs through scenic mountainous countryside. Upon arrival, a must visit is the Treetop Canopy Walkway which 20 minutes hike is needed. Experience the height of 41 metres above the ground and length of 170 metres. Or you may just take a dip in the open air Japanese styled bathtub which the hot sulphuric water is believed to have curative powers. Lunch at the local restaurant. Then, continue journey to Kinabalu National Park, Malaysia’s First World Heritage Site for a visit to the Mountain Garden and Exhibition Hall. Return to the hotel in the evening. You may go for swimming, snorkeling or just sun-bathing along the beach as well as enjoy the water sports activities at your own expenses. Afternoon, transfer to Mamutik Island and a sumptuous BBQ Lunch is served. Free at leisure. Return to mainland in the late afternoon. Dinner at the local restaurant. Overnight at the Selected Hotel.
