You will visit Archaelogical sites with Mayan Temples on the lowland and Mayan Biosphere, one of the biggest Natural reserve in America, National Park Laguna del Tigre. Arrive to Guatemala City Airport where you'll be met by one of our representatives that will help you check in for your 17:15 flight to Flores, Petén. Early morning walk to the Tikal Temples, where you can enjoy a beautiful and picturesque sunrise. Afterwards, you'll have a box breakfast and walk around the Mayan Temples to see a variety of birds that include, but are not exlucive to: tinamous, motmots, aracaris, jacamars, puffbirds, leaftossers, antthrushes, and the odd Northern Royal Flycatcher. Today you'll visit the Mayan Temples again during the sunrise where you might get a closer view of Yucatan Black Howler Monkeys, Keel-billed Toucans, Montezuma Oropendolas, Laughing Falcons or maybe a White Hawk soaring overhead. The unique Ocellated Turkey, one of the most fantastically plumaged American birds, is common here. Then return for breakfast and continue birding in the morning at Tikal. At noon, you'll be transferred to Las Guacamayas Biological Station, with lunch on the way and birding along the road to get to Paso Caballos. It takes about 3 hours to get to the Estación Biológica Las Guacamayas, using a 4-WD vehicle on dirt road to the village Paso Caballo, and from there a boat on the SAC LUC River to the lodge Las Guacamayas. A very early morning is in store for you, since we need to leave before sunrise to get Yaxhá (around 3 hours)... Don't worry, we'll give you a box breakfast! Arrive to Yaxhá an start birding where you might find the Pheasant Cuckoo, Tody motmots, trogons, toucans and Blue-Crowned or maybe the four species of tinamou—Great, Little, Slaty-breasted and Thicket— along the trails and you'll get to see spectacular views of the Mayan Biosphere. Parrots can also be found flying in flocks like the Red-lored, White-fronted, White-crowned and the Mealy parrots.
