After breakfast, you will be picked up by our representative to explore the city of Nairobi. You will visit the former home of Karen Blixen which is now a museum. You also tour the Giraffe Centre. You will also visit the Elephant orphanage at the David Sheldricks Wildlife Trust. Then visit the animal orphanage at the entrance of Nairobi National park before lunch is served at a restaurant of your choice. After an early breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi, you are picked by a professional driver guide who will be with you for the next 2 nights on safari. You depart heading to Amboseli National Park. Amboseli is renowned for its elephant populations and large herds, including some impressively tusked bulls are drawn to a series of large, lush swamp lands. But the most impressive giant of all is Mt Kilimanjaro. Africa’s largest mountain lies just over the border in Tanzania, but the most impressive views of its snow-capped peak are to be found in Amboseli. The early light of dawn turns the mountain a dark hue of purple, and its snows into an ethereal pink. The sight of Kilimanjaro high above herds of elephant crossing the plains of Amboseli is a timeless African image. This area is home to many Maasai communities, centered around the Amboseli National Park. The park is 400 sq kms, with its southern boundary along the Tanzanian border. The park is home to more than just Elephants, and herds of wildebeest, zebra and impala graze on the open plains.. There are areas of acacia forest that make for good birding, and are home to many small mammals. Cheetah are also often sighted here. After breakfast, your driver guide will transfer you to the airstrip for the flight to Nairobi. At Wilson airport, you connect another flight to Samburu Game Reserve. You will be arriving Samburu at around noon. You are met at the airstrip by professional guides from Elephant Bedroom Camp. Drive to the camp for lunch. In the morning set out on a game drive in the park, a great opportunity for photographs and tracking rare wildlife. Afterwards stop off at a local Samburu Village, for a guided tour by local residents, who share very similar traits to the Masai herders. The Samburu are semi-nomadic pastoralists. Cattle, as well as sheep, goats and camels, are of utmost importance to the Samburu culture and way of life.
