Brazil is full of natural wonders with an incredible biodiversity. Discover Rio de Janeiro and the Tijuca Forest, which is the biggest urban rainforest in the world. Admire the imposing Iguazu Falls from both sides and by boat and explore the Amazon in a Jungle lodge and a private cruise in a traditional Amazon boat.

DAY 1

Arrival in Rio de Janeiro

Airport pick up by your English-speaking guide and transfer to the hotel. End of the day open to enjoy the famous beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema.

DAY 2

Botanic Garden & Tijuca

Visit with the impressive botanical garden, proudness of the cariocas. Each of the 141 hectares of the park hosts species of the brazilian and world flora. The imperial palm trees, main attraction of the garden, were seeded under the order of the regent prince Dom Joao VI in 1809. Then transfer to the Tijuca national park in the centre of Rio. This oasis of vegetation of 3,200 hectares is the biggest urban forest in the world and is he best opportunity to hike both "around" and "in" Rio. You will pass through the "vista chinesa" and the "mesa do Imperador" which are great viewing points of the city. In the afternoon, climb up the Corcovado (700 m el.) a worldly known symbol of Rio. At the summit take the time to appreciate the wonderful panoramic view of the city. Read more

DAY 3

Center & Sugarloaf mountain

Private visit of Rio’s city center, from a colossal avenue framed by imposing glass buildings to quaint, small streets and their little affordable shops. Many styles, one spirit, is the best definition to describe the architectural cocktail of the center, where past and modernism coexist in harmony. Among the possible visits: Imperial Municipal, foundation Banco do Brasil, national History museum, largo da Carioca, convento Santo Antônio, metropolitan cathedral, plaza Tiradentes... In the afternoon, take the cable cart to the summit of the Sugarloaf, another Rio´s symbol which marks the entrance of the Bay of Guanabara. Read more

DAY 4

Iguaçu Falls: Brazilian side

Private transfer to the airport. Flight from Rio de Janeiro. Pick up at the Iguassu airport and transfer to the hotel. In a private vehicle, you will head to the Brazilian side of the Iguaçu Park and admire a wondeful panoramic view. The Iguaçu national park, 185,000 acres, was classified as a Natural Heritage site by the UNESCO. You will pass hundreds of small falls before reaching the last one, Floriano Fall. From this one you will have an arresting panoramic view over the "Devil’s Canyon", in front of you. Return towards Foz de Iguaçu. On the way, you will stop at the bird park, where hundreds of different types of birds from Brazil are sheltered. Read more

DAY 5

Iguaçu Falls / Argentina

Meet your English-speaking guide at your hotel. Transfer to the Argentinean side of the park. Stop at the symbolic panoramic point on three borders: Paraguay - Brazil - Argentina. Visit of the falls from the Argentina side, from where you will get closer to the water, and of the impressive "Devil’s Canyon" under your feet. During the day, you will stop for the Gran Aventura Zodiac. In a 4WD vehicle, you will enter the silent forest. You reach the shores of the river. There you will wait for the powerful semi-flexible hull zodiacs in which you will follow up the river… until finding yourselves right under the fall! Read more

DAY 6

Iguazu - Manaus

Private transport to the airport. Domestic flight from Foz do Iguaçu. Pick up and transfer to the hotel in Manaus. Free time to discover the capital of the Amazon and its wonderful theater.

DAY 7

Manaus - Amazon Lodge

Transfer to the Amazon Lodge. You will take a motor boat for 45 minutes. This emotional journey through the forest will allow you to see the houses on stilts of the ribeirinhos. At the lodge, some cold drinks will be served, then you will be shown to your rooms. After some free time you will go on a dugout at around 4pm to go through the igapos and the flooded forest to meet wild animals such as sloths and various different bird and monkey species. After a sumptuous dinner, back on a motored boat for a night outing. You will be able to see caimans and other nocturnal animals. Read more

DAY 8

Amazon Lodge

Breakfast: fresh fruits and specialties from the region. Then, you will board a dugout to discover the region. You will then get to know a part of the rich ecosystem of the Amazon Rainforest, among which many different plants and trees, some of them being used for medicinal purposes and others used for the making of cosmetics. After some down time, departure on a small motor boat at 4pm to fish and to get closer to the famous piranhas. Read more

DAY 9

Amazon Lodge

Wake-up at 5:30am with the birds for an unforgettable outing. You will watch the sun rise over the Rio Negro, accompanied by the morning dance performance of birds as well as other animals. Back to the lodge for a local breakfast. Then, you board a dugout to visit the Casa da Farinha. You will discover how the caboclos prepare the manioc flour, a main ingredient for any Amazonian family. Finally, you will taste the famous tapioca with Brazilian nuts. Read more

DAY 10

Amazon Lodge

After breakfast, you will leave on a dugout for what must be the most fantastic activity of the lodge: the meeting with the pink dolphins called Botos vermelhos or Botos cor de rosa. In the afternoon, you will board a dugout to reach the Nossa Senhora do Perpetuo Socorro village, most commonly known as Vila de Acajatuba. That small village counts only 54 families spread out on the island in the middle of the Acajatuba lake. You will visit the artisanal center, run buy ONGs to help the locals develop and commercialize their products. Your last stop will be at the free clinic and school. Read more

DAY 11

Private Cruise in the Amazon

Right after breakfast, you will go on a boat to go down the Rio Negro and on to Manaus. Many stops are planned so you can participate in different activities. In the morning, the boat crosses the Rio Negro and stops at a region called Jaraqui. Depending on the time of the year, you will be able to go for a swim in a fabulous waterfall. You will then go back in the forest to discover the fauna, among which many different monkeys. In the afternoon, after a few hours on the water, the boat stops in a historical place, symbol of the rubber fever: the Paricatuba Ruins. After this trip back in the past, follow onto the Rio Negro, where you will see the Rio Negro bridge and the Ponta Negra beach. Read more

DAY 12

Private Cruise in the Amazon

You will wake up on the waters of the Rio Solimoes, where the ecosystem is completely different from the one around the Rio Negro, with a very rich fauna and flora as well. There are, for example, more than 2000 species of fish in the river. The waters are muddy and locals can fish and cultivate various products that are then taken to the city of Manaus to be sold in farmer markets and markets. After lunch, you will navigate on the Xiborena canal, being very narrow, it will allow you to see some sloths along the way, as well as birds and monkeys. At the end of the day, you will reach the Janauary Lake where you will spend the night on the boat. Read more

Private cruise - Manaus

In the morning, you will visit the Vitorias Regias lake and discover the Sumaumeira tree. It is one of the tallest trees of the Amazon Rainforest, being as high as 60 meters. You will board the small motor boat to discover natural species. Back to Manaus through the meeting point between the Rio Solimoes and the Rio Negro where the Amazon river is formed.
