Bicycle tour is in the pearl of Russian north nature - Karelia. The route goes from lake to lake Ladoga (Ladozhskoe), the biggest lake in Europe, to Onego (Onezhskoe), the second biggest. You will visit the world famous Kizhi (UNESCO World Heritage) and Valaam islands, Kivach waterfall, marble quarry in Ruskeala, Ladoga skerries, Sortavala. Cycling part starts in Sortavala and ends in Petrozavodsk, the capital of Karelia.
City tour in St. Petersburg
Early bus transfer to Priozersk (170 km). Boat trip to Valaam island with world famous Valaam monastery. Excursion and lunch in the monastery. Overnight in Sortavala - old city with Finish architecture in the hotel near Ladoga lake.
First cycling day. On our way we visit Akhvenkoski waterfall and the marble quarry in Ruskeala (Marble from here was used for construction many palaces in St. Petersburg. We stay near lake Yanisyarvi. Russian bath house.
Today we ride along Ladoga lake and its famous skerries. We stay overnight on the lake shore with Russian bath again.
We start day with short bus transfer (130 km) to Kinerma. Kinerma is authentic Karelian village. We try some Karelian food for lunch. We stay near lake Siamozero. Russian bathhouse.
Today is the longest cycling day. On our way we will stay for a picnic on lake Ukshozero. Overnight in a nice hotel near the lake.
Today we visit famous Kivach nature reserve and see the second biggest waterfall in Europe. After short bus ride (80 km) we finish in the Karelian capital - Petrozavodsk. Hotel we stay has excellent spa facilities. Farewell dinner.
