Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport early morning you are met by your driver and tour director who will facilitate your transfer to the Eka Hotel for overnight.
After your breakfast, check out of your Hotel and head south on the Nairobi – Mombasa highway taking a detour at Emali town as you head for Amboseli. As you drive on, you should be able to witness Chyulu hills and some volcanic lava dome from afar in Tsavo west and if the skies are clear you will be able to see Mt. Kili in front of you. The drive to Amboseli is about 3 to 4 Hours hence you will arrive and check in time for lunch at Amboseli Serena Lodge. Afternoon siesta before venturing in an introductory evening game drive to spot the elephants from the swamps and other herbivores making their way to the foothills of the Mountain to close the day. Breakfast at 0700Hrs followed by a game drive. Highlight of the morning drive is to encounter the elephants, zebras, wildebeests, gazelles and other animals coming from Mt. Kilimanjaro heading towards the swamps to browse as well as cool off as the day gets hotter. Of course, we would not mind and it would be a plus to come across few predators found in the park to include the Cheetah, Lion and the Hyena. The mirage and dust devils in the vast open Amboseli ecosystem will definitely give you an idea of how dry the area is and the importance of Kilimanjaro to the flora and fauna inhabiting the Park. By now, the heat is too much and you head back to the lodge, await lunch and an afternoon siesta. In the evening, venture into another game drive this time round identifying and exploring the different bird species in Amboseli, hippos and bidding farewell to the herbivores you had seen before as you head to the Observation Hill to end the day with a splendid sunset atop of the hill. Lunch enroute along the wat=y, we check in at Ol pejeta Conservancy and immediately delve into a game drive on the way to Camp. Awake and have breakfast at 0630hrs and set out for a game drive expecting to encounter reticulated giraffes, oryx, silver backed jackals, cape buffaloes, Grevy’s zebra and many more. The peak of the morning session is a visit to the Chimp Centre where we get a lot of information and conservation insight on the primates closest to the human with only a difference of 1% DNA to the human. As it gets hotter we head back to or camp for lunch and a relaxing afternoon. At 1600Hrs, we set out for a game drive, en route to Morani Centre to get acquainted with the blind black rhino. After feeding Baraka and getting a lot of information on black rhino conservation and challenges we proceed on the evening game drive looking for a myriad of animals fond within the conservancy, as we make our way back to the camp for a delicious well served dinner and catch up on the days’ reflection. Check out and leave after early breakfast heading south for Lake Nakuru National Park, a rhino sanctuary and a world heritage site as a result of a variety of birds especially flamingoes. In this Park you will also come across other endangered Rothschild giraffes, Buffaloes, Gazelles, Water bucks, and if very lucky you will encounter Lions and the Leopard. Have an early breakfast and check out with picnic lunch to the World Famous Maasai Mara Reserve. You will have about two to three stops along the way, a chance to enjoy the scenery from the ground level bearing in mind that your way back to Nairobi will be different. Arrive the Mara Game reserve and engage in a game drive on your way to check in at Mara Serena Safari Lodge. By the time you reach the camp, the lush wheat oat grass plains with patchy single trees and the great numbers of wildebeests will have made your day. You will have an early morning game drive in the reserve experiencing the morning dew, singing birds, awakening predators and the alert prey in action, not to leave out any wildebeest crossings in the Mara River which is not far off from the Lodge before returning for breakfast. You can head back after to Mara River crossing points to await and capture the wildebeests crossing the river, the crocodiles that are experiencing the happiest moments of the year. On this day you have the option of experiencing the Mara from an aerial view. The hot air ballooning activity is an option you can take to view wild game for about one and a half hours followed by champagne breakfast. If heights are not very friendly to you then you have the option of having breakfast and then engage in a morning game drive with your safari jeep till about Lunch time. A Day to bid the Mara farewell, awake early for a game drive before breakfast finalizing on Kenya’s wildlife experience. Head back to the lodge for breakfast and an interactive recap on the safari with the tour director. Have lunch and relax for a while before your drop off to the airstrip for your 45-minute flight to Nairobi’s Wilson airport, where you will be met by one of our reps and driver to transfer you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international departure flight.
