Departure north. For visitors of North Jutland, a visit to Skagen and Grenen, the northernmost point of Jutland, is an absolute must. Pay close attention to this fascinating experience of the grandeur display of nature’s forces. First we stop in Skagen, the northernmost city in Denmark, well known for its nature, as well as for the group of Scandinavian artists famous for their bohemian lifestyle. Next stop, Grenen, the Denmark’s northernmost point, where you can witness a unique natural phenomenon. Here, two seas meet, namely the Skagerrak and the Kattegat; and the collision of the waves is clearly visible to the naked eye. This fascinating tourist attraction, is a spit formation consisting of deposited sand and gravel carried along by the strong currents; and over the last 100 years, this barrier has increased its length by 1 km. As the large beach expanse at the tip of Grenen is constantly moving, there are frequent occurrences of lagoons – attracting both playful children and adults, as well as wading birds. Due to the strong and extremely dangerous currents, bathing is strictly prohibited, though. At the southern part of Grenen, a compass demonstrates that Grenen actually points towards the east. Drive with "Sandormen" to the tip of Grenen, where two seas meet. Take a fascinating, eventful and inspiring tour and witness the change of the coastline and the diversity of nature. Return to Ålborg for the overnight. Dinner at the hotel Overnight in the First Ålborg Hotel or similar Read more

Ålborg - Gothenburg

Breakfast in the hotel Today you will leave Denmark and depart to Sweden. Take a crossing ferry from Frederikshavn (DK) to Gothenburg (SE). You will cross the Kattegat, the sea area bounded by the Jutlandic peninsula in the west, the Danish Straits islands of Denmark to the south and Swedish provinces to the east. Control of the Kattegat, and access to it, have been important throughout the history of international seafaring. Until the completion of the Eider Canal in 1784, the Kattegat was the only sea route into and out of the Baltic region. The name derives from the Dutch words katte (cat's) and gat (hole, gate). It derives from late medieval navigation jargon, in which captains of the Hanseatic trading fleets would compare the Danish Straits to a hole so narrow that even a cat would have difficulty squeezing its way through. Arrival in Gothenburg, the second largest city in Sweden. Check in & rest of the day at leisure. Enjoy the many restaurants and tourist attractions that the city has to offer. Take a walk through the city along the famous Avenyn Avenue, Gothenburg's main street. Wander freely and admire the architecture, which with its old trams is reminiscent of a Scandinavian San Francisco. Dinner in the hotel Overnight in First Hotel G or similar Read more

Good value for money. The tour guide in Oslo should just retire, she obviously was there just to point out how inferior the rest of the world was compared to Norway. As for the tour leader, completely not with it or really interested in the group. Our Bergen guide was really great! Super entertaining too. Read more

The tour was very good, just what we wanted. Oslo was great, accommodation was very good. Getting around was so easy, not what you expect in a city, with the train station right at the hotel front door. Every thing was arranged very well. Have a guide with us all the way, made the organisation very straight forward. If there was one thing I would change I would have a hotel in Bergen like the Bristol instead of the Augustin because it is just too far out of the city centre, even though it's only 8min. Read more

Overall - a very good tour covering some lovely places. My one comment would be to for VOS to provide some additional information in their materials on things like what sights are covered in their included cities tours - so as to be able to better plan free time (e.g. in Oslo). Otherwise it was very well organized. Read more
