Continue your journey to the northernmost point of Europe, the North Cape. Short ferry crossings from Breivikeidet to Svensby & from Lyngseidet to Olderdalen.
After driving along the Kvænangen fjord, we continue through the heart of the arctic region of Finnmark, Norway’s
largest county; "where East meets West," in culture as well as in nature and geography. By land, it borders Troms County to the west, Finnish Lapland to the south, Russian Murmansk to the east; and by water, the Norwegian Sea (Atlantic Ocean) to the northwest, and the Barents Sea (Arctic Ocean) to the north and northeast. Here, the human presence is almost imperceptible, except for a few Sami (Lappish people) encampments and reindeer herds that wind along the straight running through the wild tundra, on the borders of continental Europe. The journey is long, but the reward will be great as soon as we reach our goal: The North Cape.
Late afternoon arrival in Honningsvåg, check in & dinner. Evening excursion to the North Cape promontory. The summer sun doesn’t set between the middle of May and the end of July and you can enjoy watching the midnight sun or the sunset over the Barents Sea from the North Cape Plateau.
Dinner in the hotel.
