7 Days Kidepo Valley N.P & Karamojong Culture

This safari takes you to Kidepo Valley National Park - Uganda's most spectacular but less visited game park. The park is located over 600 kilometres from Kampala in the north eastern corner of Uganda. Covering an area of 1,442 square kilometers, Kidepo is a true wilderness given its vast savannah plains and rugged mountain landscape home to all the Big Game as we have come to know them. On the trip, you meet the Karimojong people who neighbour the par

Morning & Evening Game Drive

You will wake up to nature’s sounds and given the remoteness of the park, count on hearing the sounds of an authentic African morning. You will take a sunrise game-drive in and around Apoka Valley. You will then return to the lodge for breakfast after which you will embark on a mid-morning game-adventure that will take you to the Kanangorok hot spring. Here, the so-called Big Five can be seen wandering around including Ostrich. The semi-arid section of the park is home to hot springs and the majestic Ostriches. Tour Fort Patiko Slave Marke

Also known as explorer Sir Samuel Baker’s fort, Fort Patiko is located about 40 kilometres north of Gulu town. Patiko is a beauty – mountains and hills grace the place that was born out of slave trade in the 1800s by Arab slave traders. Take a tour of the place and listen to the Fort’s gruesome past. The fort advantageously sits near Nimule, South Sudan and onwards to eastern Egypt, where the Arabs sold their merchandise including ivory. Slaves were a key trading item for the Arabs too and were captured from northern Uganda, Gondokoro in Sudan and other areas. Ocecu Hill, where the fort is located became a sorting ground for slaves. Healthy-looking ones were forced to trek from Patiko, through Sudan across the Red Sea and sold in Egypt. Later, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight. Read more

Drive to Kampala via Zziwa R

Up early and through with breakfast by 6.00am. After, you will drive to the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary to complete your search for the Big Five. Rhinos were wiped out in the Ugandan wild and currently, visitors can only see them at the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary where three babies have been added to the rhino numbers within the sanctuary. Here, rhinos are being bred before re-introduction back in the national parks. When you arrive at the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a guide and armed rangers will take you on either a walking/by vehicle safari to look for the rhinos. Once you have spotted the rhinos, you will stay in their presence for a while before enjoying a bush picnic lunch in the sanctuary’s grounds. After your picnic lunch, you will continue onto Kampala, headed to Entebbe International Airport where your driver/guide will drop you off at the airport for your departure flight home. Read more

A Magical Uganda experience with Africa Uzuri Safaris” Our family safari holiday to Uganda was handled professionally by Africa Uzuri Safaris and I would recommend them highly. We were met at Entebbe airport by our driver/guide who transferred us to Cassia Lodge in Kampala for an overnight stay. Our safari started in Jinja where we visited the Source of the Nile and later participated in adrenaline-raising activities. The whole experience was indeed magical as the experience of riding quad bikes on dirt trails beside the Nile, to the game safari in the Murchison Falls National Park were all wonderful. We would never have included these attractions on our itinerary if we had chosen to do it ourselves – we would have missed out on some of the fun. Rummaging through Kibale Forest National Park in search of chimpanzees and learning about the other 12 primates that live in this forest, the birdlife and plants was very refreshing. However, nothing prepares you for an encounter with the Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi. We tracked gorillas in Buhoma – the northern sector because of its gentler terrain (on recommendation from Edris) but all I have to say is that the mandatory 1-hour we spent in the presence of the gentle gorillas was the most magical. The accommodations were perfect all the way. Our driver/guide Twaha was very professional and knowledgeable. If you are planning travel to Uganda, don’t hesitate, book with them. Read more

Thank you for arranging a wonderful safari holiday for my family We contacted Uzuri Safaris to arrange our 8 days safari holiday to Uganda and from the get go, Edris, who we were in communication with at the office throughout the arrangement of the trip was very professional; responding to emails quickly and answering all our queries regarding the trip. Once we got to Uganda, we fell in love with everything – the people, food, wildlife and the scenery and a lot more. Our driver/guide who spoke perfect English and knew all the places we visited like the back of his hand did a wonderful job and we are very grateful to him for making our trip enjoyable. The highlight was the 1-hour we spent with the Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi – what an experience! The accommodations that were selected from the hotel in Kampala, the lodge in Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth National Park and in Bwindi were clean and comfortable. To sum it all up, we had a wonderful time in Uganda and we recommend them for anyone intending to travel to Uganda. Read more

Amazing week in Uganda We had an incredible time in Uganda this summer, it was very well organised and we felt in safe hands the whole time. We went gorilla trekking in the Bwindi National Park, and on safari in the Queen Elizabeth National Park. Gorilla Trekking was the highlight, definitely something to tick off the bucket list. Overall, i couldn't fault our trip, and would recommend it to anyone and everyone! Read more
