Ronda is situated in a mountainous area about 750 m (2,460 ft) above mean sea level. The Guadalevín River runs through the city, dividing it in two and carving out the steep, 100-plus-meter-deep El Tajo canyon above which the city perches. Arrive anytime today and check into your hotel which is situated across from the famous Bull Ring. There's lots of cafes, restaurants and shops within 5 minutes walk, or perhaps take a walk across Ronda's famous bridge and explore the old town, or just relax and soak up the Andalucian atmosphere. We'll meet in Ronda around 9am, exact time tba (look out for the EDIBLE BIKE TOURS SIGN) and transfer by vehicle to the start of our journey through the Andalucian White Villages, all by ebike. After a quick brief and practice run, we ride through some of the most stunning scenery in Andalucía. We meander down country roads, we stop at villages for a quick bite to eat, and we chat with the locals. We cycle approximately 12kms before our first tapas, then continue to our lunch destination where a scrumptious meal awaits. After lunch our journey continues through winding roads with breath-taking scenery, arriving at Montejaque late afternoon. If you find the heat and cycling too much you are welcome to jump into our support vehicle at any time if you need a break, and we do stop every 3kms for snacks, water and photos (B/L) Read more
After breakfast you will be transported by vehicle to the edge of Grazalema National Park to start our cycling around Lake Zahara. Today is a much easier day as we cycle to experience the best of the lake before a short ascent to the village of Zahara de la Sierra. As usual we include lots of photo stops, snacks and water along the way, and you are rewarded at the end with swimming, kayaking and a picnic lunch prepared by our resident chef, as well as some free time to explore Zahara de la Sierra. Following breakfast on your final day, we head off by ebike to the sleepy village of Benaojan before cycling approximately 10 km over the mountain pass, arriving at the small settlement of Jimera de Libar. Again, you are rewarded with breath-taking scenery which can only really be experienced by bicycle. We stop for a special lunch at Jimera before heading back to Ronda by vehicle around 3pm.
