Ronda is situated in a mountainous area about 750 m (2,460 ft) above mean sea level. The Guadalevín River runs through the city, dividing it in two and carving out the steep, 100-plus-meter-deep El Tajo canyon above which the city perches. Arrive anytime today and check into your hotel which is situated across from the famous Bull Ring. There's lots of cafes, restaurants and shops within 5 minutes walk, or perhaps take a walk across Ronda's famous bridge and explore the old town, or just relax and soak up the Andalucian atmosphere. We'll meet in Ronda around 9am, exact time tba (look out for the EDIBLE BIKE TOURS SIGN) and transfer by vehicle to the start of our journey. After a full day of cycling, wine tasting and local tapas we arrive in Setenil de las Bodegas, the picture-perfect village where you will stay 2 nights. After arriving you will still have plenty of time to explore this fascinating village in the evening with its houses built below, on top and inside of rocks. If you find the heat and cycling too much you are welcome to jump into our support vehicle at any time if you need a break, and we do stop every 3kms for snacks, water and photos. Your accommodation tonight is stunning and is situated within walking distance of the main street. You will have lots of time to explore, purchase souvenirs, or simply relax by the pool at your hotel. Or perhaps take an evening walk as there are some beautiful walks in and around the village. The most famous of these is to walk the length of the river past the troglodyte dwellings and the various bars and restaurants that line it. In the morning we meet up after breakfast for a quick brief for today’s adventures. We are transported by vehicle to the edge of Grazalema National Park where we start our cycling around Lake Zahara. A well-deserved break for water, snacks and photos is made at the Red Lookout before we head off again for our ascent into the small village of Zahara de la Sierre where you will have some free time to explore, before heading back to our final lake-front point for swimming, kayaking, and a picnic lunch prepared by our resident chef. Following breakfast on your final day, we head off by ebike towards the sleepy village of Benaojan before cycling approximately 10 km over the mountain pass, arriving at the small settlement of Jimera de Libar. Again, you are rewarded with breath-taking scenery which can only really be experienced by bicycle. We stop for a special lunch at Jimera before heading back to Ronda by vehicle around 3pm.
