Ajloun Soap Houses Trail
DAY 2 // Ajloun Soap Houses Trail - Amman City Tour– Amman Hotel After Breakfast, this morning prepare yourself to an exceptional experience while doing *Soap house trail in Ajloun: This trail begins at the Reserve's Visitor Center and takes you to the Soap House in the neighboring village of Orjan. On the way, you will hike through thick, healthy woodlands filled with oak, pistachio, and oriental strawberry trees. Take a short detour to view a ruined wine press before you pass one of the oldest strawberry trees in the Reserve on your way down into the valley. The trail climbs to 1100m above sea level at Eagle's View Point, and then descends to the Soap House where local women follow the traditional process of making Orjan pure olive soap. Now head to Amman we tour the downtown part of capital city Amman for 2 hours, visiting sites and museums including the Archeological Museum, the Folklore Museum, The citadel, the blue mosque and the Amphitheatre. Madaba - Nebo - Dana Village
DAY 3// Madaba, Mount Nebo –Dana Village tour -Petra After Breakfast, we visit Madaba, a city best known for the famous 6th century Mosaic map of Jerusalem & Holy Land and for its spectacular Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics. Proceed to Mt. Nebo (site only as the church is closed down for renovation) a city mentioned in the bible as the place where Moses was granted a view of the promised land that he would never enter. Next, Starting from the Dana Guesthouse, this trail winds above the *Dana Village and through the terraced gardens and local craft workshops. Day 4// Petra Tour- Petra After breakfast, we head to visit the Nabatean Red Rose city of Petra, one of the 7 world wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enter the city through 1KM long narrow gorge which is flanked either side by 80m high cliffs and star your Petra tour! Notice the dazzling colors and formations of the rocks. The site is massive, and contains hundreds of elaborated rock-cut tombs, a treasury, Roman-style theatres, temples, sacrificial altars and colonnaded streets. The amazing cooking experience at Al Qantara Kitchen: Al Qantara Kitchen is less than five minutes driving from Petra main gate, where you can taste the Jordanian food, live the true experience of cooking with a Jordanian chef and learn all about Arabic culture and cuisine. Day 6 // Free day – Aqaba Boat Cruise with Lunch – Wadi Rum tour with Zarb (dinner) After Breakfast, enjoy free day at Aqaba hotel, then Pick up from your hotel for a Aqaba Boat Cruise & lunch. Then go ahead for a Wadi Rum tour and enjoy the experience of eating Zarb which is an ancient and traditional cooking practices go, the zarb is perhaps the most dramatic. It consists of lamb or chicken, sometimes herbs and vegetables, which have been buried in an oven with hot coals beneath the desert sands. When it’s time for the meat to resurface, the sand is brushed away, the lid comes off, and the glorious slow-roasted fragrances billow into the air. For centuries the bedouin have been cooking like this throughout the Arabian peninsula. When tribesmen roamed across the desert in search of water and pasture for their animals, they kept their cooking equipment to the bare minimum. An earth oven could be dug quickly, and hot embers and stones from the campfire could be placed inside. The meat would be wrapped in palm leaves, and a mound of sand would seal in the heat. Eat zarb with the bedouin in the today's Wadi Rum tour , and you’ll see that only a few things have changed. The meat is still cooked underground, but often in an iron pot with a heavy lid that gets covered with sand. The meat may be wrapped in foil rather than palm leaves, but the lamb falls off the bone just as would have hundreds of years ago.
