After breakfast you will travel to the northern plains of the country. You probably know the Arenal Volcano thanks to its special conical shape from various postcards, travel books or posters about Costa Rica. Today you will experience the volcano up close! In the morning you drive north in the private transport from San José and you will experience an unforgettable hiking, this experience through trails marked with the remains of previous lava flows of the impressive and majestic Arenal Volcano. The main attraction of La Fortuna is the Arenal Volcano with its nearly perfect cone shape, and a height of 1633 meters. Along the hike you will discover the abundant flora and some fauna which inhabits the rainforest under re-generation; your guide will tell you all about the Arenal Volcano history and activity. Today we have a little action and adventure planned for you. The first part consists of 7 zip line cables. Begin the tour with an adrenaline filled climb up an 18-meter-high tower (54 feet) to fly over a 120 meter (360 feet) high canyon. From there you can take in spectacular views of the Pino Blanco Waterfall, Arenal Volcano, and Cerro Chato. Next, you will cross a hanging bridge to the longest cable – 980 meters (0.6 miles) high above the la Fortuna Waterfall with great views of downtown Fortuna. Afterwards you will be picked up to go on a rafting tour on the Balsa river with an English-speaking guide. You will master rapids Level III - IV and get to know Costa Rica's nature up close.
