6 Nights Hwange Safari

WHY 6 NIGHTS IN Hwange National Park? Hwange National Park, at fourteen thousand square kilometers is the same size as Belgium! Home to forty thousand elephants that roam this huge protected expanse that is unfenced and untamed. Along with a huge diversity of plains game, big cats, birdlife and diverse range of fauna.

DAY 1

Victoria Falls to Hwange Bush Camp

On arrival at Victoria Falls International airport guests will be welcomed by an Agents Africa representative and transferred by road to Hwange Bush Camp. The transfer by road is initially one hundred kilometers on a good paved road through rural Zimbabwe. Guests leave their air conditioned mini van at Mbala gate, where they will be collected by an open game viewing vehicle for their transfer to Hwange Bush Camp. The remaining sixty kilometers is mostly through Hwange National Park, affording guests plenty of wildlife sightings and is in essence a game drive. Hwange Bush Camp, Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe Hwange Bush Camp is situated in the remote northern region of Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. Situated in the hilly countryside adjacent to Deteema Dam This area offers guests scenic diversity with huge open grass lands, natural springs and pumped water points. Wildlife game viewing activities include drives in open 4X4 safari vehicles, or guided walks accompanied by one an armed Professional Guide, ensuring your safety and giving guests an exciting and educational view of the bush at grass roots level. The aim is to provide visitors with an exceptional game viewing experience in the African bush that is second to none. Nestled under the canopy of trees, our Bush Camp caters for a maximum of twelve guests in six spacious and tastefully decorated twin bedded Meru tents, each with private en-suite facilities including flush toilets and a bush shower with hot water being made available on request. The shady lounge and dining area is the focal point of the camp, tastefully decorated with rustic hints of old world colonial charm, reminiscent of those enjoyed by early explorers to the continent. The bush camp kitchen provides delicious meals cooked on a wood burning stove. The camp runs on solar but there are charging stations for recharging camera and laptops. DAY 2

Hwange Bush Camp

Please note this is merely a guide line, as the guide in camp will dictate the activities, mostly in response to what is happening on the ground at that stage. The wake up call beckons before dawn, with a tea and coffee delivered to your tent. A wonderful way to start the day, joining the dawn chorus of the African bush as it begins to awaken. Maybe the distant roar of a lion, searching for his pride or the eerie whoop of a hyena returning from it's nocturnal wanderings, the harsh 'kwaar' as a francolin descends from the safety of it's nocturnal perch, the gentle cooing of a turtle dove celebrating the dawn. A moment to savor and reflect on the privilege of being part of this tremendous landscape. A continental breakfast served around the fire precedes departure on the days activities. Activities are fluid and consist of a mix between game drives, walks and spending time at water holes. It might start as a drive from camp but rapidly change to a walk as tracks of a buffalo herd or the resident pride of lions are spotted, and need to be further investigated on foot.. The thrill of being on foot tracking lions can only be described first hand. Whatever you see, your guide will be a fountain of information and make the outdoors come alive with his explanations and interpretations of the environment you are in. Lunch in camp will be a culinary delight, followed by a well earned siesta. Afternoon tea with savory and sweet snacks is a fitting way to prepare for the afternoon adventures. An afternoon game drive or walk to Deteema Dam is a great way to spend the last hours of the day. In the dry season, this body of water is the only thirst quenching sustenance for miles around for wildlife. No matter how you get there it is difficult to beat a G & T in hand, watching the procession of wildlife come and go. In camp a three course dinner awaits and then it is time to relax around the campfire, a great place for tales from your guide as well as some insight into the constellations that sparkle above you.
