Wake up and prepare for a fascinating visit to the mysterious temple of Beng Mealea, which is 65 km far from Siem Reap. When you finish your breakfast, our guide will pick you up at the hotel and we then head towards the East to reach Beng Melea Temple, which was built during the 12th century during the reign of King Suryavarman II, at about the same time as Angkor Wat of which its layout and style closely mirror. However, Beng Melea is completely ruined and largely overrun by vegetation and competes with Ta Prohm for the “lost in the jungle” ambience. The temple is covered by trees, lichen-covered stones, broken towers and galleries. Absolutely, you will be deeply impressed by many sculptures which are hidden among the rubble and the vegetation. Booking our tour to Ha Long Bay was the best thing for a relaxing couple days seeing some of the most beautiful sights and scenery I have ever seen. Truly an amazing overnight experience. A couple of weeks away I did a half-day Cu Chi tunnels cycling private tour through Vietnam Discovery. I knew about this agency from Vietnam Visa, who arrange my multiple-entry on-arrival visa for Vietnam. The cycling tour was excellent. Mr. Thai, the guide, was a cycling enthusiast and very kind person who did a top-notch job not only with the biking itself but with the explanations along the tour and in the Cu Chi tunnels. The bikes were of first-rate quality (two Cannondales that looked like new) and the whole organization, including the transportation by van from the city, was flawless (the van was accessible during the complete tour in case it was needed). Mr. Thai cycling pace was perfect to fully enjoy the entire ride (which I believe was close to 40 km long) and not to feel that we were going slow. Lunch was at a great local restaurant outside of the tourist beaten path where their pâté was amazing. Even the short break for a tapioca-based snack was something that added to the whole trip. Once the tour was finished, Mr.Thai invited me (free of charge) to ride a mountain-bike circuit close to the city, where he was competing the day after; we stayed something like one hour biking the circuit, and part of it was inside a temple (that was the icing on the cake for the day). On top of that, Vietnam Discovery help and assistance was second to none, with an essentially instant reply to any questions I had about the tour before booking it. I should not forget a great job of Chloe and especially of Leo in this respect. The tour was somewhat pricier than other I had seen advertised online but I think that the possible small difference is in my opinion justified by the high quality of the memorable experience. All in all, this was a very positive experience with Vietnam Discovery. Read more
Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi, Halong Bay, Mekong Delta & Cu Chi Tunnels I had the pleasure of booking my trip with this amazing company. Steven who organized our tour really listened to us and what our requirements were. He catered to all of our needs and gave us the best and most affordable prices. Leo, who was our personal assistant made sure that we were looked after and reminded us of all of our timings and even stayed late because our flight was delayed. Not only them all of our tour guides were amazing and the company was considerate enough to send guides who were a similar age to us so that we could get along well. Seldom you find an agency who cares so much about their customers. The tours were amazing. Highly recommend the Hanoi Street Food tour & Cu Chi tunnels, there were my favorite. My partner liked Halong Bay and Mekong Delta better though so it's really up to the person, however, anything that these guys book will surely please you. Definitely coming back for more! Read more
