Today we are off to a great tour through the Lake District and the Patagonian Steppe. We leave San Carlos de Bariloche on a private vehicle. We skirt Nahuel Huapi Lake and we cross Limay River, entering a new environment, the Patagonian Steppe. Some minutes after we enter the Enchanted Valley characterized by its rock formations. Many shapes can be found here, all rocks eroded by millenniums of wind, rain and ice… At Confluencia, we take dirt road for 50km to reach Traful Lake, to stop at a wonderful viewing point. Then we go into Villa Traful to have lunch. We have some spare time to enjoy the beach and then we continue until reaching the famous Seven Lake Circuit. We cross Coihue Forests (native tree) to get to the city of Villa La Angostura ... you visit downtown with many neat little shops, terraces, restaurants. And then you go to the historical area, where you will find old buildings and some lovely beaches. Way back to San Carlos de Bariloche through Huemul Peninsula with its white sandy beaches and next crossing the typical landscapes of the Patagonian Steppe. Transfer from the hotel in El Calafate to Punta Bandera. Boarding at 9:00 at the private port "La Soledad". The route starts northwest and crosses Punta Avellana and Boca del Diablo, the narrowest part of the lake (800 m). After two hours of sailing, the constant parade of icebergs with varied forms and colours, shows that you are getting closer to the glacier Upsala. The boat will stop along the barrier of ice, which at the moment prohibits the entrance to the Upsala channel, but if the weather conditions are good, you will be able to contemplate the Upsala Glacier. Then going south, the ship will sail into the canal that leads to the Spegazzini glacier, with faces measuring up to 135 m above the lake level. A gourmet lunch will be served in this wonderful landscape. During the afternoon, the cruise reaches Puesto de las Vacas, a very quiet bay of the Spegazzini channel. You will then go ashore and enjoy an interesting ride supervised by our team of guides. You can also enjoy some of the beautiful views on the Spegazzini glacier. Departure to the Iguazú National Park, 18 km from the city centre. Walk along the lower and upper footbridges in the Devil’s Gorge. The Iguazu falls in the Misiones province are always beyond the expectation and the imagination of the visitors. It is often said that the falls are to be admired from the Brazilian side but experienced in the Argentinean side. A complete tour should thus include both sides of the falls. They are formed by a 70 meters drop in the elevation of the Iguazu River with 275 falls. The first day of the tour is dedicated to the Argentinean side where the falls can be seen from various viewing, you can admire falls such as Bosetti, Mbigua and San Martin. We will continue with the lower circuit to observe the Dos Hermanas falls and the San Martin Island. In the afternoon, the tour goes to the "Garganta del Diablo" circuit with a viewing point in front of the superb and powerful fall, over 150 meters long and 80 meters high. This impressive wonder is surrounded with a thick mist which is one of the biggest attractions of the National Park.
