West Coast & Kalahari Safari | Flowers, Beach & Kalahari

Take a journey with us traveling slowly through the fascinating arid parts of South Africa, up the West Coast, which is rich in natural beauty and at certain times of the year (August/September) can burst into life with thousands of colourful flowers. We continue to the Kalahari region, and along the great Orange River, exploring the fascinating landscapes and wildlife of this region.

West Coast National Park

We begin our journey by driving from Cape Town up the West Coast. This is an area steeped in settler history, with farming and fishing traditions, and a host of fascinating landscapes, places and characters. We spend the afternoon within the West Coast National Park, with a large estuary and rolling hills full of fynbos and wildlife. Read more

Namaqualand | 1 Night

Augrabies Falls National Park | Waterfal

We follow the Orange River upstream, driving through a fascinating arid landscape with strange and wonderful animals and plants. This day is spent checking into and exploring the wildlife of the Augrabies Falls National Park such as Giraffe, Eland, Klipspringer, Springbok and many smaller predators, as well as the Falls themselves. Hundreds of years of the Orange River flowing through this rocky landscape has carved a magnificent waterfall in the soft rock, which can be viewed, up close and personal. During the rainy summer season, the falls flow strongly. Read more

Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park | Kalahari

We leave Augrabies Falls National Park and travel even further north towards the great Kalahari Desert. We drive towards the border with Botswana this time, and visit the extraordinary wildlife sanctuary of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. A landscape of dry rivers, red sand dunes, sparse vegetation and a surprisingly large amount of wildlife including the black-maned lions. Read more

Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park | Kalahari

We spend the day exploring the vast wilderness that is Kgalagadi. Following ancient river lines, we search for wildlife that can always bring the unexpected! Black-maned lions, leopards, gemsbok, and even meerkats (just like Timone!). On top of our search, the landscape will always amaze us and will provide an abundance of photo opportunities at the 'end of the world.' Read more

Kgalagadi | 2 Nights

Calvinia | Great Karoo

From here we travel on our longest route through the vast expanses of the Karoo south towards Cape Town, traversing some of the longest roads between two towns in South Africa. This landscape is an ancient inland sea and the vast flat spaces devoid of settlement are something to behold. At night, there is the serenity of night sky filled with stars. Read more

Tankwa Karoo National Park

The Ancient Landscape of the Karoo

We enjoy our morning game drive or optional walk. Soaking in the scenery and spotting wildlife that one doesn't generally see in South Africa, we return to camp for a hearty breakfast. Relaxing in the heat of the day around camp, we embark on an afternoon game drive to be enjoyed! Sun-downers allow us to appreciate the majestic landscape and sunsets that change everyday, before returning to camp for dinner. Read more

This was my first visit to Africa and to be honest...I had no idea what to expect and was a bit nervous. The trip turned out to be one that far exceeded my expectations with great memories that will last a lifetime. Booking a trip with Siya Phambile was great choice and one that I would make again.

I highly recommend! Our guide Benjami was amazing! Some words to describe him: knowledgeable, patience, fun and organized. The Safari was outstanding. The accommodations where better than I had expected. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

I had an amazing experience with Siya Phambile Expeditions. Benjamin was our most excellent guide and he truly went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed the beauty and wonders of South Africa. The Safari Tour at Kruger National Reserve was incredible.
