ITINERARY
DAY 1
Luang Prabang arrival
You will be met and greeted at the airport upon arrival and take a short transfer downtown for hotel check-in. This afternoon we will take a sightseeing tour of Luang Prabang with visit to Vat Mai Temple, which was the residence of a Buddhist patriarch until 1975 before climbing Phousi Hill for an outstanding view over the former Royal capital and the Mekong River. Then enjoy the sunset along the Mekong River at Vat Phabath Tai and spend some time strolling through the H’Mong market. Overnight in Luang Prabang. Read more

DAY 2
Mekong River cruise and Pak Ou Ca
After breakfast, take a traditional riverboat for a 2-hour cruise up the Mekong River to Pak Ou, at the confluence of the Nam Ou and Mekong Rivers, to visit the sacred caves of Tham Ting and Tham Phoum, home to hundreds of Buddha statues. On the way, visit Xang Hai village where sticky rice wine is distilled. Return to Luang Prabang and continue by road to Ban Xang Khong weaving village where traditional mulberry leaf paper is also produced. Overnight in Luang Prabang. Read more

DAY 3
Kuang Sy natural and waterfalls
After breakfast, take an excursion by road to the picturesque Khouang Sy Waterfalls nestled in lush tropical forest. Here turquoise water cascades along limestone terraces and pouring into lakes making wonderful swimming pools. Enjoy a walk along the warterfall and explore the tropical rain forest. Return to Luang Prabang and later we take a visit to the National Museum (formerly the Royal Palace) with its collection of personal artifacts of the Lao Royal Family. Vientiane
Transfer to the airport to take your flight to Vientiane. Check-in hotel and this afternoon we have tour of Vientiane with visits to Vat Sisaket, the only original temple in Vientiane (built in 1818 - it is the sole survivor of a Thai invasion in 1828), the Ho Phrakeo, the former Royal Chapel where an Emerald Buddha dating back to the time of the Lane Xang Kingdom was enshrined, the Patouxai and That Luang stupa. I cannot recommend this company high enough. All we had to do was tell Ms Ngoan Le our travel consultant at the company the area and an idea of what we wanted to see and she did the rest, which included booking hotels, organising our tour and our own personal tour guide and driver . We ended up having a fantastic holiday of a lifetime. Our guide 'Vu' was so friendly and knowledgeable about everywhere we went. Our tour included an overnight stay at a Homestay which I was a little unsure about but Ms Ngoan assured me that I would enjoy it and that it would be a very good way to experience the home life of the Vietnamese. In the event it was a wonderful experience thanks to our guide 'Vu' and the family we stayed with. Ms Ngoan was right. We also took the tour of the Cu Chi tunnels, City tour of Saigon and the early morning tour which included seeing how the Vietnamese start their day doing Tai Chi, aerobics, badminton etc in the parks. We also visited the fresh food markets. All the tours were so interesting made especially so thanks to the detailed knowledge and friendly approach of 'Vu'. You will not find a better tour company in the whole of Vietnam. Read more

Thanks to Travel Authentic Asia our cruise of SE Asia was a pleasure! Our cruise ship offered tours at three times the price in some cases and had far less qualified guides. Arriving in Hanoi, we were at the mercy of our tour guide, Sonny. His introduction, presentation and welcome was truly professional. Something about him gave us a very positive vibe that we were in for a good time. The tour was well paced and with a very knowledgeable and passionate tour guide, the trip was made a bit more memorable. Having private guides is definitely recommended. Travelling across Vietnam we had other tour guides and all were really good and pleasant to deal with. The guides took care of small details. Sense of humour, good command of English, accommodating changes on the run was really appreciated. All the hotels were of a good/high standards, the drivers made the trips safer and the best experience was the cyclo ride in Hanoi. The people were nice and the most memorable moment we recall: a local lady seeing my daughter stuck on the other side of the road went back across and guided my daughter safely weaving through the rushing traffic with such an ease in HCM city. What kindness from the people of Vietnam. Vietnam and Cambodia are great places to visit as they have lots of history, beauty and scenic places to see and having Travel Authentic Asia organise it all meant we could totally enjoy the trip without having to worry about hotels, transports and most meals.
