Picked up by your A/C vehicle with your local English speaking guide and private transfer to Kulen Mountain / Kulen National Park with the biggest waterfall in Cambodia which featured in the scene that Lara Croft was escaping from the attack running in the forest appearing
in front of the Waterfall.
Kulen was the first Angkorian city during early 9th century, and this site has been recently spoken on the medias with the archaeologist discoveries. Kulen located 56 km from Siem Reap which has become safe starting from 1999 after the Khmer Rouge had mobilized all the forces with the government. It is considered a holly place for local people as we believe in Lingas, spirit and stones.
Arrive at the mountain trekking up the mountain to arrive at River of Thousand Lingas lying under the river bed, people believe it brings fertility and blessing Angkor area as the river flows from Kulen to Siem Reap.
Let’s skip the crowded place and move to a quiet river for your awaiting picnic lunch in the huts by the river.
After lunch walk 500 meters to visit the Grand Reclining Buddha. Kulen mountain remains the sacred place, local people believes.
From the Grand Reclining Buddha, walk back to the water fall, where you enjoy swimming the 30 meters high water fall.
Drive back to Siem Reap with a stop at Banteay Srei, one of remote Angkor’s highlights. This temple contains the finest, most intricate carvings to be found in Angkor. Located in a remote area the temple was rediscovered in 1914 and cleared some 10 years later. It was reconstructed using the method of anastylosis by French conservator Henri March al during the 1930’s. Today the Banteay Srei is a very well preserved monument. Its exquisite ornamentations that cover most of the temple show great skill and precision.
