A safari experience that takes you on the beaten track giving you more intimate safari adventure. Visiting the northern circuit on a safari jeep, taking a hike to the beautiful Empakai Crater, and not lose the experience of seeing the wildlife in their natural habitat, and the surrounding people and culture.
Upon arrival you will be met by one of our professional representative, who will pick you up and give you a short briefing on your day to day itenerary. You will be brought to your hotel for refreshing and a proper meet and greet, have dinner and rest for the next days adventure.
After breakfast, you will depart to the nearby Arusha National Park, which is a sanctuary of its own. Here you will see an array of wildlife, including the Pink Flamingoes, Giraffes, many birds, antelopes. Also, this is where the famous old movie, Hatari, has a history with. There will be a short hike around Mount Meru, and the surrounding hills. Your walking guide will help in making the short hike memorable and informational and very interesting. After breakfast we head out To Tarangire National Park for game drive, we will see Elephants, Zebras, Baboons, and might be able to spot a Leopard on a tree or Cheetahs in the tall grass. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
We begin our day driving from Tarangire to Lake Manyara National park, proceed with a game drive and have picnic lunch in the park. After lunch we finish more game drive as we exit the park and drive up the Great Rift Valley to Lake Eyasi for dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Today we rise early and set off to visit and see one of Africa’s true bush-men, one not so often mentioned, the Hadzabe. They are few of the last surviving hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa. After breakfast drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend down the crater for a beautiful game drive seeing Rhinoceros, Lions and other indigenous animals permanent residents of the Crater since formation. We stop for lunch at the picnic site, after lunch we do a game drive as we ascend from the crater and head for dinner and overnight at the lodge. Read more
Your day will begin with an early breakfast before heading out for the Empakaai Crater hike. The hike is through forested hills about 300 metres from the crater floor, with absolutely stunning views of Ol Doinyo Lengai, a still active volcano. On a clear day you could to see Lake Natron, the Great Rift Valley, and from a long distant you could see Mount Kilimanjaro snow cap. Your trek will take you down into the crater itself towards the shores of Empakaai Lake, alongside animals such as bushbucks, buffaloes, waterbucks, elands, and countless different species of bird. Had a great time! Tony was extremely helpful and accommodating in getting the logistical side of the safari lined up before we went and addressed all of our questions / concerns. The safari itself was an amazing time. We got to see all the animals that we could have hoped to see (lions, giraffes, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, wildebeest, hyenas, buffalo, hippos and even a rhino!) and the experience sleeping under the stars was great. Our guide Isaac and our chef who accompanied us on the safari were excellent. Very down to earth people making the safari that much more enjoyable. At the end of the day I guess it all goes down to which driver/tour guide you get, we had Timothy, only have good words about him, good person, great sense of humor and very skilled at spotting animals.
