Tradition and Modernity: a journey through a city in constant change. This excursion takes about three and a half hours of which you will walk for nearly two hours along different areas of Santiago bourough. There will also be a few transfers in vehicle from one area to another. The tour is intended to give a complete overview of the urban history of Santiago, as well as some of its most important architectural landmarks. We will be visiting historical buildings, such as the Museo de Bellas Artes, Cerro Santa Lucia, the Central Market and Mapocho Station. As well as spectacular contemporary constructions like Centro Cultural Gabriela Mistral and MAVI. We will walk around heritage neighborhoods and interventions of recent architecture, which account for a perfect connection of traditionalism and modernity. Then, we will stop by the former National Congress, and continue to the heart of Santiago, its Main Square or "Plaza de Armas", and explore its significant historic buildings that make up the edges of the square. Santiago

Pick up from your Hotel in Santiago to get your flight over Calama, then you will drive to San Pedro de Atacama, where you will spend the next 3 nights. In the afternoon: We will begin our tour departing from your hotel towards the Death Valley and Moon Valley, both part of the National Reserve Los Flamencos and located only a few kilometers from San Pedro. We begin by visiting Death Valley, also known as Mars Valley, where we will experience one of the most desolated and arid landscapes on the earth, hence the name Death Valley. We continue to the Moon Valley, located 8km from San Pedro, a place with beautiful shapes and colors, where we can walk and enjoy a great geological spectacle that has been repeatedly compared with the surface of the moon, with its angular geology and rocks sculpted by millenniums of erosion. We will then visit the salt caverns before climbing the mayor sand dune where we can marvel at the kaleidoscope of colors that appear over the Andes at sunset. Return to San Pedro de Atacama at approximately 7:00pm. San Pedro de Atacama, 3 Nigh

We will depart from San Pedro, and on the route we will see the impressive Licancabur Volcano along with some native trees such as the tamarugo and the chañar. At 38km we arrive at the interesting little Toconao village, well know for its construction in Liparita, a volcanic stone quarried nearby. Close to the quarry is the Jerez valley, a stunning, green contrast to the surrounding desert landscape. We continue our travel, heading into the centre of the Salar de Atacama, the largest salt lake in Chile, located at the National reserve Los Flamencos. Upon arrival at the Chaxsa Lagoon; we have the opportunity to observe the wide variety of birds that inhabit the lagoon, especially pink flamingos. We will then return to your hotel inSan Pedro. We will depart around 4:30 am (departure time depends on the time of the year), from the hotel to the Geyser del Tatio located 98kms from San Pedro at 4,300 mts. Enjoy a picnic style breakfast and have a guided stroll through the geothermal field to see the geyser and pools of boiling water and mud. Once the sun has risen, we move to the area of the hot springs for a rejuvenating soak in 40°C water. Later stop in a small town called Machuca located in Atacameño at 4000m. In this town we will visit an old church of the colonial times.
