When you arrive at Benito Juarez International Airport, meet your professional driver, who will show you to your air-conditioned transfer vehicle and drive you in comfort to your hotel in Mexico city center.
After breakfast, you will enjoy a tour visiting the historical center of Mexico City, one of the largest UNESCO World Heritage Cities. The tour includes major attractions such as: the Zocalo (main square), the National Palace with the murals of Diego Rivera, the Metropolitan Cathedral, as well as a panoramic view of the Templo Mayor, the City of the Aztec culture, with over 2000 years of history. Continue the tour through Chapultepec Park, driving along Paseo de la Reforma, and at the end, visit the National Museum of Anthropology and History. The Museum is a must visit in the city. The range of exhibits is exceptional and the architecture is simply superb, making this visit an unexpected pleasure. You will find impressive masterpieces such as the famous Sun Stone, or Aztec Calendar, segments of several pyramids, and many original masterpieces of the ancient Mesoamerican Cultures. This museum is one of the largest and most beautiful in the world; nevertheless it will be just a one hour visit. After breakfast, visit the Basilica of Guadalupe, a catholic religious center which was built to replace a Spanish construction of the 17th century. The old church still exists, but every day it sinks further into the swampy ground. The devotion to the “Dark Virgin of Guadalupe”, is so widespread that many Mexicans refer to themselves as “Guadalupanos”. Pilgrims arrive to this important basilica daily, some traveling on their knees in devotion. After visiting the basilica, continue to the Pyramids of Teotihuacan. This ancient Aztec archaeological site was the most populated in the central valley around Mexico City. The Quetzalcoatl Temple, as well as the impressive Pyramids of the Sun and Pyramid of the Moon, are highlights. At the top of the pyramids enjoy a superb view over then entire central valley. After breakfast, visit one of the most popular museums in Mexico City, the Frida Kahlo or “Casa Azul” (Blue House) Museum in Coyoacán. Frida was an artist and reknowned woman of the last century. She was Diego Rivera´s wife, one of Mexico’s top muralists whose works of art are still present around the world. Coyoacán is one of the most well preserved colonial areas of Mexico City, where you will enjoy the market and main buildings around the “Plaza of the Coyotes”. Continue on to Xochimilco, known as the “floating gardens” for its extended series of canals. This area, has kept its ancient traditions, despite being part of Mexico City. Enjoy the folklore of Xochimilco, on the colorful trajineras -Xochimilco launches-, between chinampas; small “floating” islands, covered with flowers and gardens. This magical walk will take you to one of the most picturesque areas of the state of Michoacán, also known as El Alma de México for its ancient customs. Also meet Quiroga an artisan wood workshops, Tzintzuntzan an open chapel and Archaeological Zone Janitzio: 20 minutes from the pier is this picturesque island. Its name means "hair of elote". At its top was erected a monument 40 meters high, in memory of Generalísimo Don Jose Maria Morelos and Pavón. In the interior the painter Ramón Alva de la Canal stamped the life of the hero. The indigenous community that inhabits it has largely preserved the authenticity of its customs, such as the vigil of the Night of the Dead, a ceremony in which fishermen leave with their butterfly nets and boats illuminated with lit candlesticks.
