Transfer to the Mandalay's Gawein Jetty at 6 AM for boat cruise down the mighty Irrawaddy River to Bagan and arrive Bagan approximately 05:00 PM. This route has an estimated time of approximately 10 hours. We chose this cruise because during the journey through the waters of the Ayeyarwaddy River, it is the only boat that makes a stop. It will allow us to know the way of life a small town on the bank where they make pots or collect and dry peanuts or other fruits and vegetables according to the time. In addition to your comfort, your friendly and entertaining crew will give us a brief cooking class, and will teach us some of the local traditions such as techniques for wearing "loungyi" (men's skirt from Myanmar). Once you arrive in Bagan, transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Bagan. Note: 1) In case of cancellation of the Alliance Myanmar cruise, we will replace it with another boat of the same type or similar. But the other boats usually do not offer the stop and mini cooking class. After breakfast, we will transfer to the airport for our flight to Heho, the picturesque and abundant Shan State. Then, drive to Nyaung Shwe, we will start the tour in the village of Nyaung Shwe where we will embark on a private boat on the beautiful Inle Lake. Away from the masses of tourists and souvenir shops, we will seek the authenticity of the Lake passing near the local villages of the Lake. The aim is to see the lifestyle of the majority of Inle inhabitants, fishermen and farmers who work with great skill on the beautiful waters and floating crops. We will pass through the most picturesque corners such as the Monastery of Ngaphe Chaung, whose monks have very ancient relics, and that we chose for their privileged situation, with their beautiful views to the floating crops of the lake. We will visit the Inpawkhone village, where you can see how the silk fabric and lotus flower traditionally made by hand and with looms are made. For this area we will also stop to enjoy how the shipyards manufacture in a totally handmade way the ships that sail by Inle. We will also sail to the famous Paung Daw Oo pagoda with five Buddha images (four of them are taken from the temple at the great Paung Daw Oo festival). Breakfast at the Hotel. Today we begin to take in the deep green mountains of Shan, we arrive at Sagar, to explore the Pagodas complex also known as Tharkong - just outside a small village on the edge of the lake. The pagodas are literally submerged in the waters of the lake, and some are before the s. XVI. They will then be taken at 09:00 from Phekon to Loikaw, a small town of great beauty in the southern extension of Inle Lake (the less developed and explored area of Inle). In this area we will encounter charming villages, scenes of local rural life, picturesque landscapes and innumerable locals curious about our presence, since tourism is still very scarce. 3 nights in Loikaw

Breakfast at the hotel. A good start to the day should always be made in the local market of Loikaw, beautiful, very active and full of colors. Then, we will go to the interior of Kayah, about 1 hour by car, to start a day exploring the villages of the Kayan ethnic minority (some call them Padaung, but they do not like it, it is not their name). In this picturesque area of hills and forests we will find very local scenes and, of course, the famous Kayan women (known as the giraffe women). This area of Myanmar has remained closed to tourism until 2011, so its extreme beauty and abundance have remained intact. Our goal is to explore the villages trying to disturb as little as possible daily activity, so we propose a trekking that can be between 45 min and 5 h, to bump into the different villages in their daily activity. Their trades, customs and rituals are really unique, and many of the locals will show them to us with great pride, sharing very intimate moments with us. Finally we headed to the hotel to end our day in Loikaw. Overnight in Loikaw Read more

Overnight in Loikaw

Breakfast at the Hotel, we will visit the Taungkwe Pagoda, which contains a series of white and gold monuments located at the top of the limestone outcrop, which were formerly used as graves and other burial rites. This place is very interesting and at the same time fun to stroll as it provides a different experience to the visit of other Myanmar pagodas, as well as offering panoramic views of the distant plains, hills and mountains. Near the Loikaw River, we stop to visit the Phoperyone Monastery in Loikaw, and the incredible Taung-gwe pagoda, unlike any other in Myanmar. The special of this enclave are the great rocks of the area, from where you can appreciate a beautiful sunset. Overnight in Loikaw Read more

DAY 10

Transfer to Loikaw airport for taking flight to Yangon. Arrive Yangon and transfer to your hotel. Yangon, the main city of Myanmar, the most populated and active, but it ceased to be capital in 2005 (Myanmar's capital is Nay Pyi Daw, purely administrative capital). One of Yangon's main activities is to stroll around downtown to admire colonial-era buildings (especially around the street and Pansodan Square) as well as numerous food stalls and consumables of all kinds. According to the time we will find different markets, but the common denominator will be the great activity and mixture of cultures and religions of the old Rangoon. Then, we headed to the great reclining Buddha Chauk Htat Gyi, before reaching the Shwedagon Pagoda, the most important and revered religious monument in the country. Overnight in Yangon. Read more
