Canyoneering and Zip-line Tour : Canyoning involves rappelling and descending cliffs and waterfalls within the canyon. Our Canyoning site is located in Calle Chirraca, a small, modest, yet lush place near our own Turrialba.
The guide
will explain the course and the equipment making sure you know the necessary mechanisms and procedures for canyoning, ensuring you a safe and fun experience. After this, you are off on a 2-3 hour adventure...rappelling down four waterfalls, zip lining down four canopy cables, and walking across a 132 foot hanging bridge – all giving you an unforgettable adrenaline rush!
Rafting Pejibaye River : A family rafting adventure. Do it with us in Pejibaye River rafting class II and III. In Pejibaye River you will go down does not solely exist of rapids, in between the white water sections are more quite parts where your guide will encourage you to jump out of the boat and go for a little swim.
This is perfectly safe and adds to the fun on the water.
Archeological site Guayabo National Monument : Veiled in the shadow of the Turrialba Volcano, like a mythical "lost city" from a storybook, lies a mysterious ancient city that was home to over 10,000 people who seemed to have mysteriously vanished just before the arrival of the Spanish in the 16th century. This region, known as Guayabo National Monument, is Costa Rica's most important archaeological site and it’s only named National Monument. A guide will walk you through the park while explaining the findings of the excavations and the history of the people that once lived there.
Research center and botanical garden CATIE Tour : During the plantation tour, a guide will help familiarize you with the extensive plantations of CATIE, and the significant contributions CATIE has made towards the research and education of tropical agriculture. A guide will give you an informative tour through some of CATIE, where you can appreciate a variety of tropical plants from distinct parts of the world. The plantations of major relevance are: coffee, cocoa, pejibayes, tropical fruit and forest species.
Horseback Riding Adventure : Once at the stables you will be introduced to your friendly, highly trained horse that will be selected for you by the experts at the stables. During the horseback riding trip, you will pass through rolling sugar cane and coffee plantations and a secondary forest. Riders have a chance to see a variety of birds such as oropendula, black guan, and other animals such as sloths and iguanas. Additionally, the riding tour will take riders to areas with phenomenal views of the surrounding countryside. You will climb and descend small hills throughout the trip slowly making a loop through the beautiful countryside. This tour offers the best views of Turrialba!
Costa Rica Coffee Tour : Many coffee lovers do not even know the origins of their morning brew! While you are on the farm you will learn all about the different types of coffee beans, and how they produce different flavor profiles of coffee.
This journey begins in the coffee plantations, here you will go into the coffee fields and learn about the methods and procedures of picking coffee cherries.
After a walk in the coffee plantations, you will go into the factory and learn about roasting and how the green bean turns in to the black coffee bean. Roasting is an art in itself and you will have the opportunity to see this first hand. The methods of cleaning the coffee beans comes next, followed by an explanation of how they ship their coffee all over to world to Folgers and even Starbucks.
