You will continue your journey to Monteverde, a little village situated on the mountainside of Tilaran Cordillera. Monteverde was founded by the Quakers that emigrated from the USA during the War against Vietnam in middle of the 20th century. They chose Costa Rica because they shared the country’s
peaceful values.
Rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the lodge facilities or go and explore the area.
Hike in the Children's Eternal Rain Forest (Entrance fees: 12$ per pers. – guided tour with Spanish and English speaking guide : 30US$ per pers.): It is the largest private reserve of Costa Rica, with more than 20.000h of protected tropical forest situated in the Northeastern part of the country. This reserve exists thanks to the help of children and adults all over the world who took part the BEN movement, a fund-raising campaign, which started in Sweden and in the United States in 1987, and quickly spread all over the world. About 60 species of amphibian, 100 species of reptiles, 425 species of bird and 121 species of mammals are been identified in the reserve, about 50.5% of all terrestrial vertebrate species in Costa Rica.
Forest night walk :
A night walk in the forest is a magical experience during which you will witness the nighttime activities of the nocturnal animals. You will have to pad and stay quiet to observe the numerous mammals, birds, and reptiles that start their day when the sun is down.
Zip-line : The canopy is a totally different way of discovering the forest. You will glide from tree to tree, accompanied by expert guides and safety equipment. It is pretty usual to cross the path of monkeys, sloths, and many other animals hidden in the forest canopy.
