8 Day Ultimate Southern African Safari

This tour was designed to let our guests experience a whole range of different habitats, landscapes and animals. This truly is the ultimate safari package. You will begin in Durban and make your way to the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Big 5 Game Reserve, the oldest game reserve in Africa. Once the royal hunting grounds of the Zulu kings, this wilderness has been untouched since the dawn of time. This means it has all the wildlife Africa has to offer and provides a authentic safari experience. Then it is onto the town of St. Lucia and the iSimangaliso Wetland Reserve, a World Heritage Site. Protected beaches, lakes and wetlands await you with a myriad of bird species and the largest populations of hippo and crocodile found anywhere in Africa. Then head further north to another branch of the iSimangaliso, the uMkhuze Game Reserve. A hidden gem, this amazing wildlife sanctuary is known for its animal hides, where you can sit and wait in a tranquil setting and let the animals come to you. We then transit through the country of Swaziland, but stop off for the night at their beautiful reserve Mkhaya to experience a safari Swazi style. Lastly end off your adventure at the world famous and our flagship reserve, the Kruger National Park. Our premier wildlife conservation area speaks for itself, 2 million hectares of unspoiled beauty will be the perfect place to unwind and end off your incredible safari...

Arrival Day

You will be met by your private guide and vehicle in Durban either right at your accommodation or at the airport and head north toward the reserve. The drive takes around 2.5 hours and is very scenic through the rolling hills of Zululand. Your guide will enthrall you with tales of tribal and colonial wars as many cultures fought over this highly fertile and sort of land. On arrival at the reserve gates, you will enter and begin your safari immediately as you move towards your camp. Many animals will be out and about, antelope, zebra and elephant are common favourites. On arrival at camp, book into your accommodation and freshen up. Look out for the many herbivours that use the camp lawns to graze, meaning you can view them right from your bungalow. When the day begins to cool, your guide will take you out into the depths of the reserve for a late afternoon game drive. As the sun begins to set, your night time predators such as leopard and lion begin to move about, so if you get lucky you may be in for a treat. Your highly experienced guide will unlock the mysteries of this amazing place and use his knowledge to find you something special. Return to camp at dark and have a scrumptious dinner served under the African stars. Read more

Hluhluwe Camps

Umfolozi Full Day Safari

Wake at dawn to a hot cup of coffee/ tea and get ready for your game drive. This is the best time of day to increase your chances of seeing the predators still moving around and perhaps even hunting, the African sunrise is not too bad either! Breakfast snacks (fruit, yogurt, muffins) will be served mid-morning to stop those tummies rumbling and another cup of coffee if need be. Then continue your search for the incredible wildlife on offer, your guide will help you find where they are hiding and also be on hand to answer any questions you may have. Then stop once again at a beautiful picnic spot for a cooked breakfast in traditional SA style, on the banks of the river, on a gas top braai (BBQ). Head back to camp for the heat of the day, enjoy the tranquility and coolness of the camp gardens. Enjoy a nap or simply sit on your balcony and take in the stunning vistas. After a snack lunch of some yummy delectable, you will head out on another sunset drive. Watch a stunning sunset whilst the animals parade past in a wildlife spectacular. There is an optional extra activity to choose if you wish, a night drive with the park rangers. This will be explained to you by your guide and can be booked directly once on the trip and does not need to be pre-arranged. Dinner is served back at camp, an authentic SA braai, of great meat and vegetables cooked on the open coals. Enjoy the experience as you look to the skies and gasp at the plethora of stars! St. Lucia Wetland Park

Its one last early game drive in the hope of completing that animal list, after which return to camp for a cooked breakfast and to pack up. Check out and make your way to the exit gate, and maybe if you are lucky a final animal encounter. Exit the park and make your way across to the quaint town of St. Lucia. It is situated right on the coastline, whereby the beaches are protected, as well as the entire coastline. This means there is no human development for hundreds of kilometers and so the wildlife thrives. On arrival you will book into your BnB and then head into the iSimangaliso Wetland Reserve for a game drive and a visit to the Cape Vidal protected beach. Lots of different animals call this reserve home and as the sunsets look out for the elusive leopard. Stop on the shores of the lake system for a Sundowner (beverage at sunset), stare in awe at the beauty before you. Exit the park and go freshen up at your BnB, before dinner out in the town (own account). Read more

Kruger Camps 3 Night

Full Day Kruger Safari

It is an early rise as the camp gates open at sunrise. There is a reason for this, besides the opportunity to witness an incredible African sunrise, it also increases the chance of seeing the nocturnal predators still moving about. Not to worry though, a hot cup of coffee/ tea will be on hand to kick start those engines. You will head out into the reserve, one of the benefits of staying in the Kruger Camps is that you will be out in the deep wilderness within seconds of leaving your bungalow. You will drive around searching for wildlife for a few hours and then stop in a beautiful location for a snack breakfast, comprising of fruit, rusks (South African biscuit), muffins and yogurt, along with a coffee/ tea. Then it is off again to continue your safari adventure. Mid-morning is a great time to see the herbivours moving towards the waterholes to drink as the land begins to warm and the predators tend to slow down. It is around 11am, just as your tummies start to rumble, that your guide will pull up to a picnic area and prepare you a cooked breakfast. These picnic areas are situated on rivers and waterholes, giving you a chance to put your feet up and watch the animals come to you. You then head back to camp for the heat of the day. It is up to you what you would like to do, take a walk around, sit at the fence and enjoy the fence and watch the animals come past or simply take a nap. Once the heat of the day passes enjoy a snack lunch of cheese, biscuits, biltong (SA meat) and other goodies. You will then join the park safari guides for a sunset drive, in their open game drive vehicles. You will head out an hour before sunset, and when the darkness descends, pull out spotlights to find the animals. This night time activity allows you the chance to see some nocturnal animals that you would not see during the day usually, as well as predators like lion and leopard are more active. You will arrive back to camp to a hearty meal prepared on the braai (BBQ). This is a long standing SA tradition and always a firm favourite. Gather round the camp fire, with the sounds of the wilderness as your company. Read more

Safari & Change of Camp

Once again head out early for a game drive, but this time return to camp for your breakfast snacks. Then we pack up and check out as we move to another area of the reserve. We always like to move to give you the guest a chance to experience different views and habitats. The entire time you are on game drive, so will still be viewing and ticking animals of your ever increasing list. Again, mid-morning you will have a cooked brunch at a picnic spot and then keep heading onward to your new camp. Check into your new environment in the early afternoon and enjoy some leisure time. As the sun dips and things start to cool, head out on a drive with your private guide and vehicle. Your highly qualified guide will use all his experience to find you anything that may be missing from the animal list. Certain animals like certain habitats, so knowing this and a keen eye are essential to spotting something out of the ordinary. Enjoy your final sunset, before heading to camp for a delicious farewell dinner. Chat around the crackling camp fire, recalling the memories of your adventure filled last few days. A night cap under the incredible African stars is the perfect send off! Read more

Going on a safari is an amazing experience and not having to worry about logistics or a single detail is why you want to go with Endless Summer Tours!!! They coordinated every aspect of our trip from airport pick-up to drop-off, we didn't have to think about a thing...only enjoy! We stayed 2 nights in a private camp / chalet and then 1 night at a more resort-type camp. Accommodations were better than expected. Rhys and Brett prepared our meals, including a traditional South African braai (BBQ), and treated us to some nice South African wine and the local specialty Amarula. A dinner was also planned at a restaurant in the reserve that had a buffet of tasty dishes and authentic singing and dancing by the waitstaff...really cool experience. On safari, we got to see 4 of the big 5 and lots of other animals. Throughout the trip, both shared their extensive experience and knowledge that helped us appreciate our experience even more. All of us were extremely happy. Overall, it was an awesome adventure. Read more

Four friends and I booked with Endless Summer Tours for a two-day, one-night safari in Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve. We were blown away by the entire experience in the best possible way. Our guides were so much fun, informative, and GREAT cooks! We were so lucky we were able to be upgraded to a bush lodge in the park for our one night stay. It was so peaceful to be so far out in the wilderness. On our game drives we saw so many rhinos, giraffes, and elephants. My favorite part of the safari, however, was driving through the beautiful wilderness. Endless Summer Tours was so accommodating - I can't overemphasize how awesome Endless Summer Tours was from the moment I contacted them to book a tour until the very end of our travels. We had an unforgettable experience and will definitely be using Endless Summer Tours for future visit to South Africa! Read more
