Masai Mara National Reserve is the most popular tourism destinations in Kenya. The reserve is located in the Great Rift Valley in primarily open grassland.Wildlife tends to be most concentrated on the reserve’s western escarpment.The Masai Mara is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. The annual wildebeest’s migration alone involves over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November.There have been some 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 birds species recorded on the reserve.Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant, and it is for this reason a visitor hardly misses to see the big five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino).The phenomenal wildbeeste migration which is a spectacular event only seen in Maasai mara is the 8th wonder of the world.

ITINERARY

Fly Nairobi to Masai Mara

You will be picked from Jomo Kenyatta airport or from your hotel of stay and transferred for your scheduled flight to Masai Mara. On arrival at the airstrip, the camp vehicle will be waiting for you and will welcome you and begin the journey to the camp with game viewing drive en route in Mara Reserve really rich with game wildlife. Lunch will be served at the Camp. Late afternoon depart for game viewing drive and later in the evening you will return for your rest and dinner at the camp at Governors Main Camp. Read more

Full Day Game viewing Drive

This will be a memorable day as is when you go down to the river to see the wildebeest cross Mara River. Apart of the crossing you will also see many wildlife ranging from the cats to the big wildlife like elephants. Have your camera ready to capture the moments in the very best way you can. You will have your picnic lunches in the bush as you scale the vast and beautiful mara landscape. Later in the evening return back for rest and dinner at Governors Main Camp. Optional: In the evening, Visit the local Masai village for a Masai cultural tour at USD30. Learn about the Masai community and interact with the local Masai people. A overnight at the Masai village can be organised upon request. A balloon safari at USD 450 per person can can be organised early morning on this day then proceed with the normal program. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the great migration. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture.
