On arrival in Sri Lanka you will be met at the international airport and then you would leave to Sigiriya. Afterwards do relax at your hotel & in the early evening visit the Sigiriya rock fortress. Afterwards, climb the rock of Sigiriya which was built by the patricide King Kashyapa in the 5th century A.D. Today its a treasure trove of rare art. In the pocket of the giant rock are the famous frescoes of the heavenly maidens of Sigiriya. On a small plateau about halfway up the side of this rock he built a gateway in the form of an enormous lion. The capital and the royal palace was abandoned after the king's death. It was used as a Buddhist monastery until the 14th century. Return to the hotel for dinner & overnight stay. Read more

After breakfast get ready for an excursion to Polonnaruwa, the second ancient capital city for three centuries, it is one of the most interesting places in Sri Lanka with many well preserved ruins of palaces and monasteries. You can then visit Medirigiriya in the early evening and an optional tour is the Elephant back jungle Safari for 01h30 minutes (Payment direct). Return back to the hotel for dinner & overnight stay. Sigiriya, 1 Night


After breakfast leave to Wasgamuwa en route visit the temple in the rock at Dambulla and continue to Wasgamuwa. The journey passes through beautiful forested foothills where one can really appreciate the natural beauty of Sri Lanka. Upon arrival in Wasgamuwa you will check in at the lodge then at PM leaves for the Safari of Wasgamuwa. The park consists of riverine forest, dry mixed evergreen forest, grasslands and wetlands. The park is almost surrounded by Mahaweli & Amban Rivers and the riverine forest area is fairly large. Wasgamuwa is famous for its elephant habitat. These elephants are known to be less habituated to people and are more wild like and leopard, sloth bear, sambhur, spotted and barking deer,wild boar and wild buffalo inhabit the area. Torque Macaque, Purple face leaf monkey and nocturnal slender Loris is also found in the park. The lesser adjutant, Wooly necked stork, open bill, painted stork, Racket-tailed Drongo, Yellow-fronted barbet, Sri Lanka Jungle fowl & Spur fowl are among the over 100 species of birds found within the park. Wasgamuwa, 1 Night


After breakfast you will depart for Kandy via the knuckles range. The importance of the Knuckles Mountain Range is obtained from several factors as it has a parasitical quality because of the mountain peaks, the crystal clear and perennial waterways, cloud forests and exquisite fauna and flora. Pregnant with history running into several millennium and a veritable treasure house of cultural heritage, the Knuckles Mountain Range can be considered as an mirror to the past. Arrive at the hotel in Kandy, the center of the traditional arts in Sri Lanka and visit the city of Kandy. The most famous landmark of Kandy is its Lake, in the center of the city. Later visit the temple of the sacred tooth relic of Buddha. Late in the evening view the Kandyan cultural performance and stay overnight at the hotel. Read more

After breakfast visit the royal botanical gardens of Peradeniya which is well known for its large variety of plants, ornamental, decorative, useful & medicinal properties. There are more than 4000 plants. You can visit the elephant Orphanage at Pinnawela too . The orphanage was established to feed, nurse & house young elephants abandoned by their mothers. The young ones often fall into pits and ravines in their quest for water during the drought period. At P.M. leave for Nuwaraeliya the center of hill country, en-route visit a tea plantation and witness the manufacture of the world famous Ceylon tea. Spend the evening walking in the cool climate. Enjoy an early breakfast on the way to Kitulgala on route you will stop at the Horton Plains Nature Reserve and embark on a guided tour with a resident naturalist guide. Horton Plains is another wildlife hot spot, the vegetation over here is open, grassy woodland, home to species such as the sambar, leopard and endemic purple-faced langur here onwards you will continue to Kitulgala. You have the option of rafting in the river which is very famous in Sri Lanka for Rafting. (Minimum 2 persons are required & payment direct). Stay overnight in Kitulgala. Read more

After breakfast in the morning will be spent exploring the Singharaja rain forest. Due to the dense vegetation the wildlife is difficult to view and elusive mammals such as the leopard which is rarely seen. You may see some of the brightly colored birds of the region which tend to move through the jungle in mixed feeding flocks. In the afternoon you would leave to Bandarawela. After breakfast leave early in the morning trekking in this small town area in Bandarawela then you will travel south to Udawalawe. This large national park was designed to protect the diverse catchments of the area of the Udawalawe Reservoir. The vegetation here is different again; mainly composed of an open parkland with some mature teak trees. The park is home to around 400 wild elephants which are easy to spot and there are also a good number of golden jackal, crocodile and buffalo. DAY 10


After breakfast in the morning you will head to the south-east corner of the island. The yala National park is the most famous of all Sri Lanka's parks. It contains of an amazing variety of habitats from open Park to dense jungle, and it also contains fresh water rivers and lakes as well as beaches. Yala's greatest claim to fame is that it has the worlds highest concentration of leopard (though it still does not guarantee seeing any!) After breakfast you will travel to your beach hotel in the south of Sri Lanka. Your journey will take you along the coast and you will be able to see the stilt fisherman in Weligama especially if you are staying at Unawatuna, if not this can be seen on day traveling to Negombo. After breakfast leave for Negombo en-route visit Galle. You can visit the Old Portuguese fort, later rebuilt and extended by the dutch is still fine preservation. Most of the administration of Galle still takes place from the fort. The view from the ramparts is superb. Bonjour Une organisation sans faille de la part de JPM Tour, des documents clairs et précis. Les rendez vous avec les guides toujours sans retard et bien à l'endroit attendu. Les hôtels choisis correspondaient tout à fait à notre souhait. Mais surtout, surtout, nous avons eu des ennuis de santé, rage de dents à l'arrivée à Cancun, puis mon fils s'est ouvert la main à Tulum, il a fallu le recoudre. Etre en pays étranger en ne parlant que très peu l'anglais et l'espagnol est très paniquant. Nous étions un peu perdus pour prendre les bonnes décisions et l'équipe de JPM Tour et particulièrement Jean Laurent nous a aidé sans compter, répondant à chacun de nos appels, s'inquiétant du suivi médical. Notre voyage aurait pu mal tourner et grâce à l'équipe de JPM Tour, tout c'est finalement bien terminé et le Mexique est un super voyage et nous laisse un magnifique souvenir. Bonjour Notre voyage s'est très bien passé, grâce surtout à notre guide Lia. Elle a été exemplaire. J'espère que la GE ne fera pas partie de l'UE, conservant ainsi ses produits de la ferme "naturels". Et d'espérer également qu'elle pourra exporter ses vins et miels. Bcp à faire. Les paysages sont très beaux, même s'il en coûte à notre système cardiologique en ayant peur sur les routes.
