On board the houseboat for upstream Mahakam river and ride a motorized canoe to reach Dayak village through the Semayang lake, fisherman villages and creek. Welcoming by dayak dance performances. Enjoy nature and culture, find a different atmosphere.
Upon arrival at Sepinggan airport of Balikpapan, meeting service and transfer to Loa Janan for boarding the house boat for exiting Mahakam river. The houseboat will move during day and night, passing some village in Mahakam River
Early in the morning arrive at MUARA MUNTAI, sightseeing around the village to see the activity of local people. The tour will be continued by motorized canoe to MANCONG (will combine with land transport via TANJUNG ISUY, If the water level not permitted). Upon arrival a welcome ceremony will lead by the Chief of BENUAQ DAYAK’s Tribe and followed by the traditional dances. Afternoon return to MUARA MUNTAI and continue the trip to MELAK. Early morning arrive at MELAK. A half day excursion by car to EHENG, to see the TUNJUNG DAYAK’s long house and their activity. Proceed to KERSIK LUWAI to observe the nature forest with its black orchid (blooming time seasonal) then heading for last destination in Melak which is Jantur Inar waterfall. Drive back to Melak and cruise down to TENGGARONG Accommodation and meals provided on boat. Read more
Morning arrival at LEKAQ KIDAU, its a dayak village. After short visited will continue downstream to TENGGARONG and visit the Mulawarman Museum the former Royal Palace of Kutai Kingdom. Direct transfer to Balikpapan and check in at Hotel.
After breakfast, free program until departure to airport for onward flight.
I just wanted to say thank you for the great tour that you organized recently for my 4 friends from Australia to see the orangutans in Kalimantan. They had a fantastic time. Their guide, boat crew, and boat were all excellent. I’m looking forward to being able to do the trip myself in the future.
We wanted to thank you for the great trip we had. Jumri, Firman and Mr. Udin made our trip more than worthwhile. They were very helpful in every kind of way. We had lots of fun. The forest where we went was so beautiful and the lodge also. After the trip to the destination, a meal was prepared by Mr. Udins wife who is a great cook! Even with our special diet, she surprised us with every meal! Of course seeing the orangutan in the wild is only to dream about but the whole stay made it so special. The lodge, the crew, the sounds, the animals, the super nice lunch we had on the way back and the interesting conversations we had. Every track we made was one to remember. We could do nothing than to recommend this trip to everyone interested in seeing the forest with all his animals and flora living there.
