After the breakfast, you will be met by your insightful private guide who will introduce you to the city. Zagreb is the capital of Croatia, full of amazing restaurants, beautiful gardens, stunning architecture and charming backstreets. Explore the charming Upper town where you can find everything from prime minister to witches, from churches to cannons, you name it! The day begins with the drive to Istria, beautiful peninsula famous for its gastronomy and cultural heritage. First stop is the distillery in the heart of the peninsula, where you will learn the process of manufacturing some of the finest Croatian liqueurs. Cheers! Heading further south into Istria, today you will visit the ancient town of Pula. Hear the many myths and legends of this unique place from the local guide and step inside one of the best preserved Roman amphitheaters in the world. After this we arrive in the nearby Vodnjan for a visit to one of the premiere olive oil manufacturers in the country. Istria is world renowned for its olive oils and has been named the best olive growing region in the world. Today you will leave Istria behind and travel to Plitvice Lakes National Park. Situated in the mountainous area of Lika, Plitvice are Croatia's oldest and most famous national park. A true wonder of nature, it consists of lakes, waterfalls, caves and forests connected by wooden and dirt paths which just invite you to explore this paradise inch by inch. After the tour we are heading to Zadar for an overnight stay. Stroll through the old streets to take in some of the history of this ancient place that was home to Illyrians, Romans and Venetians. See the iconic Diocletian's Palace, a 1700 year old living organism, touch the gigantic toe of Grgur Ninski for good luck, experience daily life in the local green market and showcase your style on the sunny Riva promenade, the longest runway in Split. In the morning, we are taking you into the world of tradition, undiscovered beauty and incredible tastes that is Dalmatian Hinterland. Just a short drive away from the coast lies one of Croatia’s most intriguing and lesser-known regions. More than two millennia of history have shaped the lives, culture and tradition of locals, who are proud to show them to the visitors. In the city of Sinj, you will discover Alka, an annual knightly tournament celebrating the strength and courage of brave men and women who defended their city from Ottoman onslaught in the 18th century. The specialized museum holds countless treasures from original weapons to modern trophies. After the cultural lecture it is time for an authentic meal in one of the local taverns. After a hearty meal, we arrive back in Split, where you can relax in your hotel or go for a swim in one of the numerous beaches in the city if the weather allows it. Read more
