Welcome to Manila, Philippines! Upon arrival in Ninoy Aquino International Airport, an Airport representative will assist you to your assigned vehicle. Transfer to Hotel and Check in. You will have an overnight stay in Makati City.
After breakfast, driver will pick you up and transfer you to Talisay Batangas, A 2-hour drive to the countryside south of Manila. Explore the the world’s smallest volcano, Taal Volcano. What makes it more unique is the fact that the volcano itself has a lake of its own inside its crater which is called the "Crater Lake". Have your lunch in the resort and relax for a while before proceeding to Pagsanjan Falls. One of the most visited tourist spot south of Manila and is the place where the movie Apocalypse now with Marlon Brando was shot. Once the trip starts, you will enjoy the lush greeneries and towering cliffs. Vast rice fields and coconut plantation can be seen along the way. Hop into a dugout canoe called 'Banca' and go where your feet won't carry you. Be prepared to get wet, water runs deep and strong in the Pagsanjan River, benevolent at times but not manageable during stormy weather when rain prods white-water mass racing downstream. Your driver will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the Domestic Airport. Take a domestic flight going to Banaue via Cauayan Airport. Please note that there is only one flight per day from Manila to Cauayan Airport which leaves around 07:00 am so please expect to leave hotel around 04:00 am safest time to reach your flight. From Cauayan Airport, your driver will pick you up and bring you to Banaue which is about 4 hours land drive. Check in the hotel and stay for 2 nights. After breakfast, usually around 8:00 am, meet with the instructor and travel with Jeepney to drive to the fabulous rice terraces in Hapao. A visit to Hapao Rice Terraces is a light and experiential trip. To see the beauty of the terraces you have to walk among them. Along the way, you can see the rice terraces spread throughout Banaue and the surrounding area, the villages on the way and the vantage point on the terraces. Combined with the uniqueness of the flowing traffic pattern of the terraces, the currents are gathered to the watershed and form an integral and inseparable part of the ecosystem of the mountain, which enables the people of the Ifugao to grow rice at altitudes of 1,000 meters above sea level. The terraces were built using primitive tools and the ability of reason and creativity used by the Ifugao. If the vertical distance from the peak to the base is indeed examined, the rice terraces can reach impressive heights to surpass the tallest and most tall buildings in the world. In coordination with the guide, you can visit the hot springs Bogyah hot spring. An estimated return on this day is 15:00, sometimes even earlier, depending on the pace of the trip. After breakfast, meet the instructor and drive with a jeep to the point where you will start walking towards the village of Batad. Jeepney is a vehicle used for public transport in the cities of the Philippines and looks like the jeeps used by the American army. Visiting the rice terraces of Batad is a trip that requires a little more fitness. This is not a very complex trek but requires you to be in reasonable shape because the descent to the village is steep and gradual. The trek to Batad is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, an excursion that will allow you to see how the Igorots built the terraces up the amazing valley in the center of which lies the village of Batad. You will also visit the village located at the bottom of the valley as well as the Tapiya Falls located across the mountain. For those who cannot continue towards the falls, this is fine, you can stay in the restaurants and guest houses upstairs. We can enjoy the magical view and experience the peace that characterizes the place. In the afternoon we will go up to the jeep (the local transport) which will take us back to the hotel. After an enjoyable and experiential day, walk towards the town of Banaue. It takes about 45 minutes to walk up the mountain. The estimated time of return will be at 16:00 or later. Be excited to swim with the gentle giants. Packed breakfast will be prepared due to early departure from hotel. We suggest early pick up to avoid long lines and cut-off for Oslob Whaleshark Activity. About 2 - 3 hrs land drive, you reach Oslob and your Tour Guide will be with you to assist. After the whaleshark activity, you will proceed to Kawasan Falls which takes about 2 - 3 hrs land drive. We decided to meet in Manila (3 couples, friends reunion) and enjoy the Philippines, both Manila and an island.
